Plus, he&#8217;s already hit the ground running this week at HQ &#8211; with three day-one winners.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, did you know he&#8217;s still to win the two BIG races of the week &#8211; the Falmouth Stakes and July Cup?<\/p>\n<p>Plus, what is interesting this year is, Appleby is expected to have big fancies for BOTH these races this Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>So, can Godolphin&#8217;s main stable finally break their duck in these two big Group One contests?<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Charlie Appleby Looks To End Newmarket July Festival Group One Drought<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>There are not many stables heading into this week&#8217;s three-day Newmarket July Festival in better form than Charlie Appleby.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing the Charlie Appleby runners are operating at a strike-rate of 32% and their track stats at Newmarket make good reading too.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Recent Charlie Appleby Newmarket Track Stats \ud83d\udcc8<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Overall: 36% (67-185)<\/li>\n<li>2 Year-Olds: 37% (32-87)<\/li>\n<li>3 Year-Olds: 37% (26-70)<\/li>\n<li>4+ Year-Olds: 32% (9-28)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Note: Stats correct as 11th July 2025\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Last year at the Newmarket July Festival the Charlie Appleby also fired in four winners. But has so far failed to hit the bullseye.<\/p>\n<p>His best finish was with Naval Crown, when second in 2022 to Alcohol Free. While his former Royal Ascot scorer Blue Point was only 7th in 2018 as the 5\/2 favourite.<\/p>\n<p>Godolphin only have one win in the race too &#8211; this came with the Clive Cox-trained Harry Angel in 2017. And since 2015 the <em>&#8216;boys in blue&#8217;<\/em> have eight runners in the July Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Appleby (and Godolphin) look to have a strong hand in the 2025 renewal though.
