Winning golf’s career Grand Slam stands as the ultimate pinnacle of the sport. Rory McIlroy was the last man to achieve the feat after his Masters victory in April, with five other golfing greats having done it before him.<\/p>\n

Can Anyone Complete The Career Grand Slam At The 153rd Open Championship?<\/h2>\n

All eyes are on the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush<\/a> as the world’s best golfers head to the north coast of Northern Ireland for the fourth and final major championship of the year.<\/p>\n

So far this year, there have been three different major winners. First up was Rory McIlroy in April, finally adding the Green Jacket to his r\u00e9sum\u00e9 as he won The Masters and completed the career Grand Slam in the process.<\/p>\n

World number one and dominant force Scottie Scheffler won the PGA Championship in May, before JJ Spaun captured the US Open last month to win his first major with a monster 65-foot putt on the 18th hole at Oakmont<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Xander Schauffele is of course the defending champion of the Claret Jug this year at Royal Portrush, looking to become the 17th back-to-back Open Championship winner in history<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Ludvig Aberg, Shane Lowry, Robert MacIntyre and Tommy Fleetwood are just some of the other top contenders with the best golf betting sites<\/a> as we embark on the final major of 2025.<\/p>\n

Scottie Scheffler Needs Open Championship & US Open Wins To Complete Career Grand Slam<\/h2>\n

Not one player in action at the 153rd Open Championship has the opportunity to become the seventh man in history to achieve golf’s career Grand Slam.<\/p>\n

The last man to achieve the feat was of course Rory McIlroy, after the Northern Irishman finally conquered Augusta after failing for 11 years to complete the Grand Slam.<\/p>\n

Prior to that, nobody had completed the coveted career Grand Slam since Tiger Woods way back in 2000.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for golf fans, the 15-time major champion won’t be in action at Royal Portrush this year. Woods is still recovering from a serious Achilles injury<\/a>, which also forced him to miss The Masters, PGA Championship and US Open this calendar year.<\/p>\n

There are a couple of players who are just one major away from the Grand Slam, but not at The Open. Golf legend Phil Mickelson can complete the career Grand Slam with a US Open win<\/a>, whilst Jordan Spieth just needs the PGA Championship to etch his name into golf’s history books.<\/p>\n

Quite a number of players are two majors away from a career Grand Slam. The likes of Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler are just some players who have won two of golf’s four majors in their respective careers.<\/p>\n

Both Schauffele and Morikawa have already won The Open, but Scheffler and Rahm haven’t. If Scottie Scheffler, who’s net worth has hit $60m<\/a>, wins this year at Royal Portrush, then he will only need the US Open to complete golf’s career Grand Slam.<\/p>\n

Similarly, if Jon Rahm, who’s net worth has surpassed $100m<\/a>, win the 153rd Open Championship, then all he needs is the PGA Championship to join golf’s elite list.<\/p>\n

Which Six Golfers Have Completed The Career Grand Slam?<\/h2>\n

Just six golfers have achieved victory in all four major championships in history. Several players have come close to achieving this milestone, yet only six players in history actually belong to the exclusive career Grand Slam club.<\/p>\n

The only golfers to have won The Masters, PGA Championship, US Open and Open Championship are Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.<\/p>\n

Woods and Nicklaus, who boast a combined total of 33 majors wins, are at the top of this prestigious list having won the career Grand Slam three times over. They also happen to be the two greatest golfers to ever live.<\/p>\n
