{"id":55171,"date":"2025-07-09T14:27:45","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T14:27:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/?p=55171"},"modified":"2025-07-09T14:27:45","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T14:27:45","slug":"vitesse-youth-coach-and-former-professional-footballer-prosecuted-for-messages-to-teenage-girl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/news\/vitesse-youth-coach-and-former-professional-footballer-prosecuted-for-messages-to-teenage-girl\/","title":{"rendered":"Vitesse Youth Coach And Former Professional Footballer Prosecuted For Messages To Teenage Girl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A youth coach at Dutch club Vitesse has been prosecuted after sending sexual messages to a 16-year-old girl.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 40-year-old coach from Waalwijk is also an ex-professional footballer.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dutch outlet <em>AD<\/em>, he allegedly tried to induce an underage victim to perform sexual acts via chat conversations through his football school.<\/p>\n<p>It is claimed that he also wanted to meet and have sex with the girl.<\/p>\n<p>The man is reported to have played for various Brabant clubs and was an assistant coach at a Brabant club in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie until 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, he became a youth coach at Vitesse and opened his own football academy.<\/p>\n<p>It is through that football school, which also has a location in Eindhoven, that he came into contact with the 16-year-old victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor claims the man allegedly tried to meet her after a training session in September to kiss her.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Try the van tomorrow?&#8221;, he is said to have messaged.<\/p>\n<p>When the girl declined the offer, he is reported to have sent further sexual messages and invited her to perform sexual acts with him.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"qme\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udc9b\ud83d\udda4\ud83e\udd1d\ud83e\udde1\ud83d\udda4 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/fz8LgcJQsW\">pic.twitter.com\/fz8LgcJQsW<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Vitesse (@MijnVitesse) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MijnVitesse\/status\/1942668863407083970?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 8, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>Vitesse Youth Coach Confesses To Approaching Underage Girl<\/h2>\n<p>The Public Prosecution Service found out about the man messaging the girl via third parties.<\/p>\n<p>She is said not to have wanted to file a report for fear of jeopardising her football career.<\/p>\n<p>But prosecution services opted to prosecute the man without filing a report.<\/p>\n<p>The ex-pro footballer has since confessed to approaching the underage girl.<\/p>\n<p>Both he and his lawyer were not present at a preliminary hearing for the trial on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The man will face trial on 2 October.<\/p>\n<h2>Vitesse Respond To Youth Coach News<\/h2>\n<p>Following the news of their youth coach being prosecuted, Vitesse have released a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Club spokesman Bram Simons said: &#8220;We as a club have just been informed of this situation and want to deliberate internally before we respond.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Vitesse, who finished 20th last season, play in the second tier of Dutch football.<\/p>\n<p>They have been in that league since their relegation from the Eredivisie in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>That came following an 18-point deduction for financial issues.<\/p>\n<h2>Vitesse News Follows 2017 Scandal<\/h2>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t the first time a youth coach from Vitesse has been accused of abusing players.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, former Vitesse youth player Renald Majoor revealed he was sexually assaulted by a coach at the club in 1996, when he was 12 years old.<\/p>\n<p>The coach was later suspended, but the incident was allegedly kept under wraps by the club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A youth coach at Dutch club Vitesse has been prosecuted after sending sexual messages to a 16-year-old girl.
