Game developer EA Sports has paid a touching tribute to Diogo Jota in FC 25 after the Liverpool forward and avid gamer was tragically killed in a car accident.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jota, 28, and his brother Andre Silva, 26, both died when their car veered off the road, reportedly due to a tyre blow-out, in the Zamora region of Spain earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Tributes poured in for the Liverpool star<\/strong><\/a> and his brother from across the world.<\/p>\n

And like many other clubs that have retired shirt numbers<\/strong><\/a>, Liverpool have opted to immortalise Jota’s number 20 shirt forever.<\/p>\n

But the latest to honour the beloved Portuguese forward is EA Sports FC 25.<\/p>\n

The hugely popular football video game unveiled a special tribute to Jota this week.<\/p>\n

Diogo Jota FC 25 Tribute To “One Of Us”<\/h2>\n

Jota was an avid gamer, and in 2021, ranked world number one on FIFA’s (now FC) Champions Leaderboard.<\/p>\n

He ran an esports team, known as Luna Galaxy, and regularly streamed on Twitch.<\/p>\n

And during the Covid-19 pandemic, Jota competed in an invitational FIFA series, beating ex-Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander- Arnold in the final.<\/p>\n

To celebrate the life of Jota, EA has released three special Tifo items on FC 25 for all players to use.<\/p>\n

Added to the Ultimate Team club of every player, the Tifos are of Jota shirts from each of his three senior clubs.<\/p>\n

Porto, Wolves and Liverpool shirts with Jota’s name and number can all now be proudly displayed in game.<\/p>\n

Alongside the Tifos, EA shared this heartfelt message.<\/p>\n

“To honour and celebrate the life of one of our most passionate FC players, three new Diogo Jota Tifos have been added to your UT club,” said the EA Sports team.<\/p>\n

For next year’s game, Jude Bellingham and Jamal Musiala were unveiled as cover stars for EA FC 26<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Liverpool Immortalise Diogo Jota In Squad List<\/h2>\n

Alongside EA’s tribute and the decision to retire Jota’s shirt number, Liverpool have preserved Jota’ memory on their website.<\/p>\n

The Reds’ squad list online shows every senior player, grouped by position.<\/p>\n

But if you scroll down past goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, forwards and ‘on-loan’, you’ll find a touching memorial to Diogo Jota.<\/p>\n

Hit player profile and picture remain proudly displayed, with his own section simply titled ‘forever’.<\/p>\n

Club Adds Diogo Jota To Wolves Hall Of Fame<\/h2>\n

And another of Jota’s clubs, Wolves, have added him to their Hall of Fame in tribute.<\/p>\n

On their website, Wolves said the Hall of Fame committee had “moved swiftly to make this rare and heartfelt decision, following the tragic and untimely death of Diogo and his younger brother Andr\u00e9.”<\/p>\n

Hall of Fame chairman John Richards said:\u00a0\u201cThere is such a feeling of sadness and disbelief around this awful tragedy that we wanted to make this tribute of our own as soon as we could.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike everyone else, we\u2019ve been stunned by events, and we remember what a wonderful player Diogo was for Wolves during that unforgettable promotion season under Nuno and our early years back in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
