Newcastle United’s hopes of signing Brentford striker Yoane Wissa may be in doubt now after his club agreed a fee with Manchester United for Bryan Mbeumo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Newcastle were reported to be stepping up their interest in Wissa over recent days.<\/p>\n

That’s largely due to the Magpies withdrawing from a possible move for Hugo Ekitike after a \u00a370 million offer for the Frankfurt forward was rejected.<\/p>\n

Ekitike could now be heading to Liverpool, as Newcastle have made it clear that star man and Reds target Alexander Isak is not for sale.<\/p>\n

But the knock-on effect of all this is that Newcastle’s attention has now turned to Wissa.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old Democratic Republic of Congo international was superb last season.<\/p>\n

He has so far scored 45 goals in 137 Premier League games for Brentford.<\/p>\n

Also wanted by Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, Wissa has become Newcastle’s priority signing.<\/p>\n

The best new betting sites in the UK<\/strong><\/a> have Newcastle at 1\/1 favourites to be Wissa’s next club.<\/p>\n

But matters have been complicated now thanks to another Brentford striker.<\/p>\n

Manchester United Agree Bryan Mbeumo Deal<\/h2>\n

After a lengthy saga, Manchester United have finally reached a deal with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim’s side will pay \u00a365 million to secure their third signing of the summer.<\/p>\n

Cameroonian striker Mbeumo, 25, is set for a medical at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

He will join ex-Wolves forward Matheus Cunha and left-back Diego Leon as new United arrivals.<\/p>\n

Having seen two earlier bids (\u00a355m and \u00a362.5m) rejected, United’s third approach has been accepted.<\/p>\n

Initially worth \u00a365m, it could rise to \u00a370m subject to add-ons.<\/p>\n

Mbeumo will become Brentford’s club-record sale.<\/p>\n

Yoane Wissa Newcastle Move In Doubt<\/h2>\n

While it’s good news for Man United fans, those supporting Newcastle may have cause for concern.<\/p>\n

That’s because the departure of Mbeumo might have a big influence on Brentford.<\/p>\n

The Bees will be desperate not to lose both halves of their impressive strike force from last season.<\/p>\n

With a combined 39 league goals, Mbeumo and Wissa formed a deadly duo in the Premier League in 2024\/25.<\/p>\n

And as Brentford look ahead to another gruelling and unforgiving league season, they will know losing that much firepower could be devastating.<\/p>\n

In January, Nottingham Forest made a \u00a320m bid for Yoane Wissa<\/strong><\/a>, which the Bees rejected.<\/p>\n

For that reason, it seems unlikely that the West London outfit would sanction the sale of both Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa.<\/p>\n

This could therefore cause some major issues for Newcastle United.<\/p>\n

Eddie Howe’s men are in need of a striker, and Wissa fits the profile of player they are looking for perfectly.<\/p>\n

But now that Manchester United have secured one of Brentford’s talismanic forwards, will the other really be allowed to leave in the same window?<\/p>\n
