{"id":56667,"date":"2025-07-22T14:48:39","date_gmt":"2025-07-22T14:48:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/?p=56667"},"modified":"2025-07-22T14:48:39","modified_gmt":"2025-07-22T14:48:39","slug":"fpl-community-breaks-sign-ups-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/news\/fpl-community-breaks-sign-ups-record\/","title":{"rendered":"FPL Community Breaks Sign-Ups Record With Biggest Ever Launch Day Confirmed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The FPL community has set a new record after a whopping 844,000 managers signed up for Fantasy Premier League on launch day.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fantasy Premier League is officially back for another season ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The free-to-play game has continued to grow in popularity since launching in 2002-03.<\/p>\n<p>With more than 11 million total players last season, the FPL community has made it the largest fantasy football game for any domestic league.<\/p>\n<p>And on Tuesday, the official FPL Twitter (now X) account confirmed another record has been smashed.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Record broken \ud83d\udca5<\/p>\n<p>With 844,000 managers signing up on day 1, we had our biggest-ever launch day \ud83d\ude80<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for being the best community \ud83e\udef6<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/FPL?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#FPL<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/yWoTqkYs4l\">pic.twitter.com\/yWoTqkYs4l<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Fantasy Premier League (@OfficialFPL) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OfficialFPL\/status\/1947600377873830076?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 22, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>FPL Community Breaks Launch Day Sign-Ups Record<\/h2>\n<p>With 844,000 FPL managers signing up on the opening day of the 2025-26 game, it was a record-breaking launch day for FPL.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a massive increase from the first season&#8217;s player base.<\/p>\n<p>The inaugural FPL season had just 76,200 players in total, meaning 11 times as many players signed up for this year&#8217;s game on day one than played at all when it first launched.<\/p>\n<p>Fantasy Premier League broke the million player mark in 2006-07, hitting 10 million users in 2022-23.<\/p>\n<h2>How Does FPL Work?<\/h2>\n<h3>Team selection<\/h3>\n<p>FPL players select a squad of 15 from the Premier League, using a budget of \u00a3100m.<\/p>\n<p>Up to three players can be chosen from any one club, while starting XIs must contain at least three defenders and one goalkeeper.<\/p>\n<h3>Team management<\/h3>\n<p>Each gameweek, players can make one free transfer, and are allowed to roll these over on a weekly basis up to a maximum of five.<\/p>\n<p>Any further transfers can be made at a cost of -4 points per transfer.<\/p>\n<p>New for this season, there is an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.safe-stash.com\/checkouts\/cn\/hWN0vCNiUyjCsOhm2QiAYvy7?auto_redirect=false&amp;edge_redirect=true&amp;fbclid=PAQ0xDSwLsjMpleHRuA2FlbQEwAGFkaWQBqyOyZQ2_jgGnq7-laqGqLbNFwaBx4tulFGgFbbQTcWNUneViKiCJAEHrkh17f7fGLs4V8gE_aem_zWb4YBGe0-Bwx0J31R6HcA&amp;locale=en-GB&amp;skip_shop_pay=true&amp;utm_campaign=120226960118440782&amp;utm_content=120229064112150782&amp;utm_id=120226960118440782&amp;utm_medium=paid&amp;utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_term=120226960118450782\">FPL AFCON boost<\/a>, allowing further free transfers in the run up to the Africa Cup of Nations in December.<\/p>\n<p>Managers also select a captain and vice captain each week. The captain&#8217;s score will be doubles, while the vice captain will become the captain automatically should the captain not play.<\/p>\n<p>All changes must be made ahead of that week&#8217;s deadline.<\/p>\n<h3>FPL points scoring<\/h3>\n<p>Points in FPL are awarded based on players&#8217; real life actions.
