Mexican international and ex-Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has been fined for sexism after comments he made on TikTok.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 37-year-old forward was fined by the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) after posting videos on the social media platform containing sexist remarks.<\/p>\n

His comments were deemed by the governing body to promote gender stereotypes and violate gender equality in sport.<\/p>\n

Following an investigation by the FMF’s gender and diversity commission, Hernandez was fined.<\/p>\n

“Chicarito”, as he is known, was formally warned and threatened with further action in the event of any repeat offence.<\/p>\n

In his videos, Hernandez urged women to “let a man lead them”.<\/p>\n

He accused women of “eroding masculinity” and questioned feminist notions about the role of women.<\/p>\n

Hernandez argued the world had become “too hypersensitive”.<\/p>\n

The forward’s comments have drawn instant backlash from fans and public figures, as well as his club.<\/p>\n

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Hernandez “still has a lot to learn about women,” and that they “can be whatever they want.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the player’s club Chivas released a statement on the matter.<\/p>\n
