with the last horse to win both Paddington in just 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to him, it was actually Field Of Gold&#8217;s sire Kingman that did the double in 2014 &#8211; so he will be looking to add to the strong family tradition in the race.<\/p>\n<p>While before Kingman, we saw the mighty Frankel with both races in 2011 &#8211; including two of the last three.<\/p>\n<p>That said, we did see a jolly bomb-out 12 months ago &#8211; when Henry Longfellow was only fourth at 11\/10.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>63% Of The Last 19 Winners Came Between Stalls 3-5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The big Sussex Stakes trends keep coming for Field Of Gold &#8211; as it seems he&#8217;s also landed himself a decent draw in 3.<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<p>Well, this is because 12 of the last 19 winners have hailed between stalls 3-5.<\/p>\n<p>Of the others, big outsider Serengeti is in stall 4 and one of the big Field Of Gold dangers Rosallion is in gate 5.<\/p>\n<p>But the other danger to the favourite &#8211; Henri Matisse &#8211; has been handed stall 1 and the stats say this isn&#8217;t great.<\/p>\n<p>The Sussex Stakes has only seen one winner come out of gate 1 in the last 19 renewals.<\/p>\n<p>This was Ramonti back in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Suggesting that if we take this stall stat on trust, only Rosallion can serve it up to Field Of Gold.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>If Field Of Gold Does Lose &#8211; Who Are The Main Challengers?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Queen Anne winner Docklands beat Rosallion a nose in that Royal Ascot race in June (watch below) &#8211; but the betting is strongly suggesting the Richard Hannon horse will be turning the tables here.<\/p>\n<p>With Docklands as big as 20\/1 and Rosallion the general second favourite at 9\/2.<\/p>\n<p>But many are saying Dockland is more of an Ascot horse and has only raced at Goodwood once (6th in 2023 Thoroughbred Stakes).<\/p>\n<p>Rosallion is rated 2lbs higher than Docklands too but is having his first run at Goodwood &#8211; with this also only his third outing since winning the St James&#8217;s Palace Stakes in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Being aged 4, the Hannon horse also has to give 8lbs away to Field Of Gold &#8211; who is actually rated 6lbs higher anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Meaning Rosallion is 14lbs wrong at the weights with the favourite.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"PHOTO FINISH!
