St Louis City welcome Premier League side Aston Villa to Energizer Park in the early hours of Thursday morning, with Unai Emery’s side on the hunt for their first win in pre-season.<\/p>\n

Thus far, the Villans have suffered 1-0 and 3-1 defeats against Walsall and Hansa Rostock and head into their stateside clash off the back of a 2-2 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt.<\/p>\n

Star players Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers were on target versus the Bundesliga outfit.<\/p>\n

Following their fixture in Missouri, Villa round off their American tour with clashes against Nashville SC and Nashville. They then return to the UK for their final pre-season outing vs Roma.<\/p>\n

The Villans’ competitive campaign gets underway on Saturday, 16 August, with their Premier League opening day fixture<\/a> being against Champions League side Newcastle at Villa Park.<\/p>\n

St Louis, meanwhile, head into this one in poor form. David Critchley’s side have won just one of their last eight games in MLS and are currently 14th out of 15 in the Western Conference table.<\/p>\n

Last time out, they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Minnesota, following on from a 3-0 loss to Dallas.<\/p>\n

    His form earned him an international call-up for England, for whom he now has six caps.<\/p>\n
