Following his knockout defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch last month, Daniel Dubois has reportedly left trainer Don Charles.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former world heavyweight champion is expected to link up with former Anthony Joshua trainer Tony Sims moving forward.<\/p>\n

Daniel Dubois Leaves Don Charles<\/h2>\n

According to various reports, former world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois has split with trainer Don Charles.<\/p>\n

Following his rematch defeat at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk last month, it seems that Dubois’ working relationship with Charles has officially come to an end.<\/p>\n

The British heavyweight boxer teamed up with Charles back in the summer of 2023, just before his first fight with Usyk.<\/p>\n

Despite losing their first fight together as the underdog with boxing betting sites<\/a> against the Ukrainian, Dubois and Charles continued to work together for over two years.<\/p>\n

During their time together, the pair teamed up for five consecutive fights. The first of course was the knockout defeat to Usyk back in August 2023, before then going on an emphatic three-fight winning run.<\/p>\n

Charles’ second fight in charge of Dubois’ corner was their impressive victory over Jarrell Miller in Saudi Arabia, before another impressive display against Filip Hrgovic in June 2024.<\/p>\n

Their biggest win together came at Wembley Stadium last September, with Dubois knocking out Anthony Joshua in five rounds to become world heavyweight champion for the very first time.<\/p>\n

It now seems that their last fight together was indeed the Usyk rematch last month, where the Ukrainian stopped ‘Dynamite’ in round five to become the undisputed king once again.<\/p>\n

Now, the 27-year-old has officially left his coach of two years in favour of a move elsewhere. Time will tell whether or not this is the right move for Dubois, or if it proves to be a big mistake in his career development.<\/p>\n
