There are just SEVEN St Leger runners left at the last declaration stage – and top Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien has half of these for Saturday’s final English Classic of the season.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seven St Leger Runners Remain As Final English Classic Looms\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ahead of the final of the English Classics – there are just SEVEN St Leger runners left in.<\/p>\n

Of these entries Aidan O’Brien, who has won the race eight times, is responsible for three.<\/p>\n

With, of his trio, the recent Goodwood Cup winner Scandinavia topping the market with the horse racing betting sites<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Prior to that Goodwood win, Scandinavia landed the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket in July and looks another fast-improving stayer for Ballydoyle.<\/p>\n

The Scandinavia St Leger betting odds also shorten recently without even running – mainly due to O’Brien’s Derby winner Lambourn losing at York.<\/p>\n

O’Brien has won the last two runnings of the St Leger, with Jan Brueghel his most recent.<\/p>\n

But his eight overall wins in the race are still way off the record haul of trainer John Scott, who had 16 St Leger winners<\/a> in the 1800’s.<\/p>\n
