    The last time Rangers dropped out of the SPL was in 2012 when they were relegated to the Scottish Third Division due to financial issues.<\/p>\n

    Rangers had to then play four seasons in the lower Scottish leagues, until winning promotion back to the SPL in 2015-16.<\/p>\n
