The 2025 Open de Espana prize money on offer this week is \u00a32,421,000 ($3.25m), plateauing for the third consecutive season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Below we have outlined the FULL purse breakdown for all 65 players who make the cut this week on the DP World Tour at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.<\/p>\n

$3.25M Worth Of Open de Espana Prize Money On Offer This Week On DP World Tour<\/h2>\n

This week sees the Open de Espana take centre-stage on the DP World Tour after Robert MacIntyre won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship over 54-holes last week in Scotland.<\/p>\n

After helping improve Team Europe’s Ryder Cup record on US soil<\/a> a fortnight ago at Bethpage Black, both Jon Rahm and Shane Lowry will tee it up in Madrid this week for the Open de Espana.<\/p>\n

Some of the European Tour’s top players are in action this week, looking to claim victory at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. Three of the top five players in the current Race to Dubai standings are in action, with Marco Penge, Kristoffer Reitan and Adrian Saddier all teeing it up.<\/p>\n

These aforementioned players will be hoping to close the gap on Rory McIlroy at the top of the Race to Dubai standings, with McIlroy’s next tournament<\/a> on the DP World Tour not until the DP World India Championship next week in New Dehli.<\/p>\n

Spain’s very own Jon Rahm leads the market with golf betting sites as the overriding favourite as he goes in search of a record fourth Open de Espana title this week on home soil.<\/p>\n

There is a full field in action this week at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, with 65 players (and ties) making the 36-hole cut. Those 65 players who make the cut will be in with a chance of earning some Open de Espana prize money come Sunday.<\/p>\n

A \u00a32,421,000 ($3.25m) purse is set to be split between all 65 players who make the halfway cut in the Spanish capital this week. This \u00a32.42m purse is the same as it was in both 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n

Open de Espana Winners Purse Remains At $552,500 <\/span><\/span>For Third Consecutive Year<\/h2>\n

The likes of career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy<\/a>, FedEx Cup champion Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton are just some of the big European names missing from the field this week in Spain.<\/p>\n

That could be good news for the rest of the field. A weaker field without some of these household names means a better chance of cashing in some Open de Espana prize money come Sunday.<\/p>\n

Whoever goes on to lift the trophy come Sunday will be in for a bumper payday and large share of the Open de Espana prize money pot for the 2025 showing at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.<\/p>\n

Whoever clinches victory come Sunday afternoon will leave with an additional $552,000 (\u00a3411,692) in the bank. With just $3.25m up for grabs this week on the European Tour, there are no seven-figure paycheques on offer.<\/p>\n

The runner-up will also pocket a tidy sum of $357,500 (\u00a3266,396), with third place also receiving $204,750 (\u00a3152,572).<\/p>\n

Each player that places sixth or higher will receive a six-figure payday, with the rest of the field pocketing five-figures bar 59th-65th who will all win prize money of just four-figures.<\/p>\n

This $3.25m (\u00a32.42m) purse is a fairly standard prize pot on the DP World Tour. It is nowhere near the likes of the Abu Dhabi Championship and DP World Tour Championship for example.<\/p>\n

This is a rather substantial decrease from one of the biggest European Tour events back in September, where the BMW PGA Championship\u00a0prize money<\/a> was \u00a36.64m.<\/p>\n

Open de Espana Prize Money Set For Increase In 2026<\/h2>\n

With the total prize pot for this year’s Open de Espana remaining at \u00a32.42m ($3.25m) for a third straight year, this means that the winners share won’t have increased since Jon Rahm claimed victory back in 2022.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Back in 2022 when the Spaniard won his third Open de Espana title and broke the record for the lowest score to par (-25), Rahm received $552,500 for his troubles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That has remained the same ever since, but could be set to chance next year. After three years of the same purse, there is talk that the Open de Espana, along with almost every DP World Tour event on the calendar, will receive additional funding.<\/p>\n

This means that players will be playing for a more lucrative purse week in, week out. This can only be a good thing for the European Tour, will still can’t compete with the PGA Tour the majority of the time in terms of prize money.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
