Still revelling in his 2024 US Open success, Jannik Sinner claims that the transition of new tennis Grand Slam champions will be ‘good for the sport.’<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sinner claimed his second major of the year after getting the bettor of Taylor Fritz in New York. All this despite the Italian’s anti-doping allegations that were making the headlines prior to the tournament.<\/p>\n

Therefore, 2024 is the first time in 22 years that none of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray or Rafael Nadal has lifted a Grand Slam title.<\/p>\n

Jannik Sinner Says New Tennis Champions Is ‘Good For The Sport’<\/h2>\n

After his US Open title, Jannik Sinner said: “It is a bit different, for sure. It’s something new, but it’s also nice to see – nice to see new champions, nice to see new rivalries.<\/p>\n

“I feel it’s good for the sport to have some new champions. I always have players and I will always have players who are going to make me a better player, because there are going to be times where they beat me,” he explained.<\/p>\n

Sinner remains at the top of the ATP rankings<\/a> after a brilliant showing this year. However, he believes there is still a lot of hard work to be done heading into 2025.<\/p>\n

“Then you have to try to find a way to win against certain players. This makes me realise that the work never stops.<\/p>\n

“It’s always a continuous work which, in the end of the day, if you want to be a better player, you always have to work and you have to have these daily routines – accept difficult times on court,” he concluded.<\/p>\n
