With just over \u00a32.6m in winning prize money on offer at Ascot this weekend – we look at the all the possible Aidan O’Brien runners for British Champions Day 2025, which are topped by his classy 3 year-old Delacroix in the Champion Stakes.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aidan O’Brien Runners For Champions Day at Ascot Headed By Delacroix\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This Saturday there will be many Aidan O’Brien Champions Day<\/a> runners to look out for – but none more so than Delacroix.<\/p>\n

His classy Dubawi colt will be many people’s idea of the winner of the Champion Stakes at 4:05pm, which carries a \u00a3803k first prize.<\/p>\n

He’ll renew his rivalry with Godolphin’s Ombudsman, with their head-to-head record this season at 1-1 – but both will also have to get by King George winner and last year’s runner-up Calandagan.<\/p>\n

It’s all set up to be one of the best renewals for some time but with the Aidan O’Brien Champion Stakes winners<\/a> standing at just one – the Ballydoyle conductor will be hoping to double his tally in the weekend feature.<\/p>\n

His only success in the race so far came in 2019 with Magical – but on a plus, just like Delacroix, she’d had also won the Irish version earlier that season.<\/p>\n

But overall, it’s not been a great race for the Irish in recent times – with only three wins since 1974 for the Emerald Isle handlers.<\/p>\n
