UFC Power Rankings Explained<\/h2>\n

When it comes to the UFC Power Rankings, they aren’t to be confused with the UFC pound-for-pound rankings.<\/p>\n

The P4P rankings list the best fighters on the entire UFC roster, putting them into one rankings system regardless of weight.<\/p>\n

The idea is that if all fighters were an equal weight, who would come out on top? That is essentially the long and short of the pound-for-pound rankings system in all combat sports, including MMA and specifically the UFC.<\/p>\n

However, when it comes to UFC power rankings, these change weekly. Every time there is a UFC event on, which happens to be almost every weekend, UFC power rankings change accordingly.<\/p>\n

There isn’t a specific UFC power rankings system listed on the official UFC website, but it means who put in a clinical performance in their last performance, who impressed the most from the last UFC event and who looked the best from last week’s card.<\/p>\n

Usually finding out who secured UFC bonuses<\/a> at the last show is a good guide to tell you who might be on the rise in the UFC power rankings. Although this mightn’t always be the case, fighters who secured a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus will typically climb the power rankings ladder.<\/p>\n

That being said, there is no official ladder or rankings list. Fans, pundits and former MMA fighters will have their own UFC power rankings opinions based on what they witnessed in the last UFC event.<\/p>\n

The following five fighters impressed massively at UFC Fight Night 264 on November 8 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, thus rising in the UFC power rankings thanks to their sensational performances.<\/p>\n

Gabriel Bonfim<\/h3>\n

Arguably the most eye-catching display this past weekend at UFC Fight Night: Bonfim vs Brown was the main event winner himself – Gabriel Bonfim.<\/p>\n

Bonfim stopped Randy Brown in the second round with a perfectly timed knee strike, sending ‘Ryde Boy’ tumbling to the canvas before the referee jumped in to call a halt to the contest.<\/p>\n

Saturday night marked Bonfim’s fourth successive victory inside the UFC octagon, whilst also winning via knockout for the first time in over four years and first time ever in the UFC.<\/p>\n

Bonfim remains inside the Top 15 of the welterweight rankings, and will have his eyes firmly set on breaking into the Top 10 in his next fight in the New Year.<\/p>\n

With Jack Della Maddalena vs Islam Makhachev going down for the UFC Welterweight Title in the UFC 322 main event this weekend, Bonfim will be keeping a close eye with aspirations of fighting for the 170-pound belt within the next 18 months.<\/p>\n
