Gabriel Bonfim

You can’t talk about UFC Fight Night: Bonfim vs Brown this weekend without mentioning at least one of the main event combatants themselves. First up, the #14 ranked welterweight contender Gabriel Bonfim.

The American is set for his seventh UFC fight this weekend, and is currently riding a three-fight winning streak. This includes a career-best win last time out against former two-time UFC Welterweight Title contender Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson.

During his six-fight UFC tenure, Bonfim has earned two UFC bonuses. He earned a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus for his submission victory over Khaos Williams back in February, with his defeat to Nicolas Dalby earning ‘Fight of the Night’ back in November 2023.

Bonfim is something of a submission artist, with 13 of his 18 wins inside the octagon coming via some form of submission. He also has three knockout finishes and has won just two fights on points.

His only career defeat was a Round 2 KO defeat to Dalby, which set him back somewhat but that he has since bounced back impressively from.

An interesting aspect of Bonfim’s fight with Randy Brown this weekend is that ‘Rude Boy’ is coming into this one after knocking out Dalby himself. Whether or not that will play on the mind of Bonfim remains to be seen, but he is expected to win this fight and is the big favourite.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the #14 ranked 170-pound contender Gabriel Bonfim as one of the UFC fighters to watch this weekend at UFC Fight Night: Bonfim vs Brown.
