DOUBLE POWERFUL (2:20pm, Novices’ Chase)

This Neil Mulholland-trained 6 year-old is also entered in Sunday’s 1:45pm at the meeting – so we’ll have to see where he ends up.

The yard is in good form at the moment and this consistent 6 year-old was a solid third here at the October Meeting last month on his chasing debut.

He was only beaten 2 1/2 lengths behind Zurich that day and should be better for the run as it came off almost seven months away from the track.

Double Powerful is also a course winner here over hurdles. Winning the Lycetts Insurance Brokers Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle at his fixture 12 months ago.

JONBON (2:55pm Shloer Chase)

This prolific chaser from the Nicky Henderson yard will be back to try and win the Shloer Chase on the opening day of the 2025 Cheltenham November Meeting.

Aged 9, Jonbon has in fact won the last two renewals of this Grade 2 Chase and despite having to give a bit of weight away, is the clear top-rated in the field (168).

Jonbon will head into the race having won 13 of his 17 chase starts and is yet to finish out of the first two over fences.

But those looking to take him on will look back to his Champion Chase defeat at the Cheltenham Festival in March – making a few jumping errors.

Plus, was also beaten at odds-on last time in the Celebration Chase at Sandown in April.

A win here though will take Jonbon’s total prize money to over £1.4m.

Oh, and did you know? Jonbon has won first time out for the past FOUR seasons.
