As we head into the final day of the November Meeting at Prestbury Park, we more Andy Newton Cheltenham horse racing tips on Sunday as he looks at the FIVE ITV races.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cheltenham Horse Racing Tips On Sunday 16th Nov: ITV Racing Best Bets From Day Three Of November Meeting<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sportscasting horse racing pundit and regular pundit on the Final Furlong Podcast<\/a>, Andy Newton continues with his Cheltenham horse racing tips on Sunday.<\/p>\n

There are FIVE more LIVE ITV Racing to end the meeting.<\/p>\n

With the highlight coming in the Greatwood Hurdle at 3:30pm, as trainer Dan Skelton hopes to win the race for a third time since 2016.<\/p>\n

Each day, you can also see Andy Newton’s horse racing tips<\/a> that include Lucky 15, NAP and NB best bets.<\/p>\n

1:15 Cheltenham – mallardjewellers.com Maiden Hurdle (Novices’ Championship Hurdle Series Qualifier) (GBB Race) Cl2 (4yo+) 2m\u00bdf ITV<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Just the two past runnings of this very tricky opener on ITV Racing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But both winners have been aged five. While Dan Skelton won this last year and tries again with Solider Reeves, who sports the first-time tongue-tie.<\/p>\n

Useful flat performer Ambiente Friendly could be anything over the sticks. Don’t forget, he was runner-up in the 2024 Epsom Derby.<\/p>\n

He’s back from a wind op and the yard had a nice winner yesterday with Lavendar Hill Mob.<\/p>\n

While the market should guide us a bit on Hendo’s Act Of Innocence – who could go off as the jolly now.<\/p>\n

However, former point winner HOLD THE SERVE<\/strong> is chanced to ‘ace’ his rivals.<\/p>\n

Yes, not a lot to go on here, but could be a nice prospect if translating that Borris House Point win in Ireland to rules.<\/p>\n

The unbelievable Sean Bowen riding is the icing on the cake for this Olly Murphy runner, who also has his stable ticking along nicely at the moment.<\/p>\n

1:45 Cheltenham – Southam Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (GBB Race) Cl3 (4yo+) 2m4f ITV<\/strong><\/h4>\n

ALL of the last nine winners were aged seven or younger, which only rules out the nine year-old Aspire Tower.<\/p>\n

In short, five and six year-olds have dominated – winning eight of the last nine.<\/p>\n

A top five finish last time is a plus too and 100% of the last nine winners also returned 9\/2 or shorter.<\/p>\n

I did like Jax Junior, but he’s a non-runner now.<\/p>\n

So, with these stats in mind, Ben Pauling’s JIG’S FORGE<\/strong>, Jordan’s Crossand Joseph’s O’Brien’s Kim Rogue are shortlisted.<\/p>\n

Jordan’s Cross was a nice winner at Aintree last time and is up 6lbs for that in this better race. But still only has 10st 8lbs to carry, which will, of course, be a plus in this ground.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The fact Joseph is bringing over Kim Rouqe could be a good sign for this French recruit, who could be anything.<\/div>\n

But the call is Jig’s Forge, who is back from a 207-day break but went well fresh last season.<\/div>\n

He won first time out over this trip at Ffos Las last November (hurdles) and has also won a point on heavy, so conditions will be fine.<\/div>\n

The Pauling team remain in fair nick too (22%) and has looked the sort to do better over fences. Has only had four career runs too, so we can also expect more in the locker.<\/div>\n

2:20 Cheltenham – Hine Solicitors Talking Sense Handicap Chase (GBB Race) Cl3 (4yo+ 0-140) 2m ITV<\/h3>\n

Triple Trade won this race two years ago and has to enter the mix rated 7lbs lower this time. Plus is the only CD winner in the line-up too.<\/p>\n

The Tizzard team have already been on the scoresheet this week too and also took this in 2022.<\/p>\n

But the slight niggle is he’s not won a race since taking this in 2023 (nine runs ago).<\/p>\n

Kerry Lee’s CABHFUILFUNGI<\/strong> will like the ground and is noted too, plus ran well on his first run back last season.<\/p>\n

So this could be the time to catch him again and gets the verdict.<\/p>\n

Of the rest, Harry Cobden also catches the eye riding Glengougly, who was last seen running well at Aintree last season.<\/p>\n

And jockey of the moment Sean Bowen has been snapped up to ride St Faz for Gordon Elliott.<\/p>\n

2:55 Cheltenham – Oddschecker Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 3m3\u00bdf ITV<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The ten year-old Protektorat is the star on show here – but 17 of the last 23 winners of this have been aged eight or younger.<\/p>\n

It won’t be easy for this former Festival winner to lump 12st in these conditions, but does hail from the Dan Skelton yard, who can do little wrong at the moment.<\/p>\n

Transmission has won at this meeting before too and will be better for his last run here in October.<\/p>\n

You feel the Venetia Williams yard will kick into gear soon too, and have the lightly-weighted Tanganyika here.<\/p>\n

So this is certainly one to note in the market.<\/p>\n

But a horse that has run well fresh in the past is BEAUPORT<\/strong> and being a past Midlands National winner over 4m 2f, we know he’ll stay.<\/p>\n

Was last seen running twelfth in the Grand National but before that did well over hurdles.<\/p>\n

Including running second in the Rendlesham Hurdle at Haydock. Plus was an excellent third in the Long Walk last December.<\/p>\n

The Twiston-Davies team are also in good form at the moment, which is the final plus.<\/p>\n

3:30 Cheltenham – Unibet Greatwood Handicap Hurdle (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) Cl1 (3yo+) 2m\u00bdf ITV<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Many chances for another competitive running of the Greatwood Hurdle.<\/p>\n

The 2023 winner Iberico Lord is back, but is now rated 13lbs higher this time.<\/p>\n

Welsh Champion Hurdle first and second Celtic Dino and Alexei race again. But with the last-named a pound better off and winning since can get his revenge.<\/p>\n

The Alan King yard have done well in this race before – two wins since 2017. He runs Helnwein and Castle Carrock.<\/p>\n

The last-named has gone well fresh too and with only four career runs looks the sort to have much more in the locker.<\/p>\n

Plus his only win over hurdles to date came on soft ground.<\/p>\n

But the one I like here is SERIOUS CHALLENGE<\/strong> for Fergal O’Brien.<\/p>\n

The yard had Dysart Enos as a beaten favourite in third last year and are taken to go two places better.<\/p>\n

This 5 year-old has won 50% of his six hurdles runs. And will be better for a return run at the end of last month (Aintree).<\/p>\n

That came over 2m4f too. But I feel he’ll be fitter this time and much more at home on softer ground over shorter.<\/p>\n

So I’ll take this Fergal runner to live up to his name and be a ‘Serious Challenge’ here.<\/p>\n
