It’s a fixture littered with big names – none more so than Arkle Novices’ Chase favourite Kopek Des Bordes, who is over fences today for the first time.<\/p>\n
We also see The Yellow Clay on the track this afternoon, plus last season’s Mares’ Chase winner Dinoblue.<\/p>\n
It’s a jam-packed afternoon – and one not to be missed.<\/p>\n This has been a good race for the Gordon Elliott yard – winning the last two with Stellar Story and Wingmen – plus have also taken four of the last six.<\/p>\n They’ve got three in this year – Agameoftwohalves, Coyote Spirit and CLASSICAL CREEK<\/strong> – with really the last-named is their big hope.<\/p>\n Jockey Jack Kennedy has also been on the last three Elliott winners in this race and gets the leg-up on the pick too.<\/p>\n He was seen last in December, when running third to yesterday’s winner at the track Kalyspo’chance in a NH Flat race here at Navan.<\/p>\n That looks solid form, the longer trip can help and he’s sure to have been well-schooled for this hurdles debut.<\/p>\n The Willie Mullins-trained Fillyoureye looks best of the best, with one of the other Elliott runners Agameoftwohalves, who looks an interesting newcomer for JP McManus.<\/p>\n \ud83e\udd47CLASSICAL CREEK A lot of chances here, but with the P J Rothwell yard only 1-57 with their hurdlers here, their Mon Sheriffe is overlooked.<\/p>\n While the Oliver McKiernan team are not much better at 1-24 and send Its Not Over Yet to post.<\/p>\n Paul’s Dream was running okay until falling late on at Cheltenham last time and if none the worse enters the mix for the Anthony Mullins team.<\/p>\n Gordon Elliott’s only entry is Themanintheboots, who was last seen running a close second at Ayr over 3m 1\/2f earlier this month – so has to enter the fray.<\/p>\n Bossing It has claims too, but the three nearer the top of the market looks the most interesting – Club Manager, Midleton Rare and Watching The Clock – who has been well-backed this morning.<\/p>\n With a chance taken on MIDLETON RARE<\/strong> bouncing back from a poor run as beaten favourite at Down Royal last time.<\/p>\n That came over 3m 1\/2f, so the drop back in trip here will help and before that run was a good winner at Limerick on softer ground that he’ll get today.<\/p>\n \ud83e\udd47MIDLETON RARE Another tough race, but with four of the last five winners ridden by a claiming jockey – there might be something here.<\/p>\n Those ridden by conditionals this year are – Ragmans Corner, Killarney King, San Hilario, Jazzy Rock and Kate Knows Best.<\/p>\n The first-named of that lot Ragmans Corner is also the only CD winner in the field, having won here in September.<\/p>\n But is up 8lbs from that and has lost twice since of his higher mark.<\/p>\n The form of the Gavin Cromwell yard at the moment is still questionable, being just 1-47 in the last 14 days.<\/p>\n So their Luker’s Tipple is overlooked.<\/p>\n With the one chanced being KILLARNEY KING<\/strong> for Henry De Bromhead, with Dyland Whelan taking off 7lbs.<\/p>\n This seven year-old is yet to win but has only had seven career runs.<\/p>\n He’s shown up well in his last three races too (three silvers) and despite being 5lbs higher than a good second at Gowran Park back in February, that is offset (and more) with Whelan’s claim.<\/p>\n Of the rest, Colonia Victoria was a nice second at Wexford last time and should have more.<\/p>\n While the unexposed Gordon Elliott runner San Hilario has a nice weight and Carl Millar taking off 5lbs.<\/p>\n \ud83e\udd47KILLARNEY KING Recent Galway winner I’ll Sort That will draw the eye after winning his last two in good fashion.<\/p>\n But this looks harder and has to give weight away to all the others, plus is taking a bit of a walk in the market.<\/p>\n Gordon Elliott’s Ma Jacks Hills could be the value call, and he also runs Theflyingking, who was set to win last time at Down Royal.<\/p>\n But Jack Kennedy was on him that day and prefers the bigger-priced Ms Jacks Hill.<\/p>\n However, ACE BRANNIGAN<\/strong> can trump them all.<\/p>\n This Henry De Bromhead runner was a tidy winner at Tipperary last month and the second that day Letos has since franked the form to win again.<\/p>\n \ud83e\udd47ACE BRANNIGAN Some big names on show here and really this should be going to THE YELLOW CLAY.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n He had a big season last term, winning four times and wasn’t disgraced with a close second to The New Lion in the Turners Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March.<\/p>\n Has since taken a tumble at Punchestown in May, when beaten at the time – but after a busy season that was probably just a race too far.<\/p>\n With a break, this exciting Gordon Elliott hurdler can bounce back in what could be a big season ahead with it looking like connection preferring to keep him over the smaller obstacles for now.<\/p>\n He’s 12\/1 for the Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, which could be the route they go with him.<\/p>\n Course winner Jetara, Maxxum and Colonel Mustard can fight it out for the places.<\/p>\n \ud83e\udd47THE YELLOW CLAY![\"Andy](\"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/11\/Andy-Navan.jpg\")
