Dan Skelton Leading The Way In 2025\/26 British Jumps Trainers’ Championship Race\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Dan Skelton Breaks \u00a32m Prize Money Barrier<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Trainer DAN SKELTON<\/strong> broke through the \u00a32m total prize money barrier before Christmas and thanks to a decent festive period has now banked \u00a32,470,196 as of 12th Jan 26.<\/p>\n

This was the fastest Skelton has reached the \u00a32m in this career, so the signs remain good he can hold on this season and land his first British Trainers’ Championship.<\/p>\n

Skelton is now a massive \u00a32,191,309<\/strong>\u00a0ahead of Willie Mullins, who won the title last season.<\/p>\n

With Mullins back in 31st – having won just \u00a3278,887 in Britain so far.<\/p>\n

Paul Nicholls has leapfrogged Olly Murphy to take second.<\/p>\n

The former champion jump trainer has now banked \u00a31,116,823 – but is still well over \u00a31m adrift of this former assistant Dan Skelton.<\/p>\n

While, thanks to Iberico Lord winning last Saturday’s Lanzarote Hurdle (\u00a352,030<\/span>), Nicky Henderson is up to fifth with \u00a3905,222.<\/p>\n

And could break through the \u00a31m mark is his Jonbon wins Saturday’s Clarence House Chase that carried \u00a398k for the winner.<\/p>\n

With less horse racing cancelled<\/a> expected this week, then we should see a lot more movement in the British Jumps Trainers’ Championship Table.<\/p>\n

Can Mullins Catch Skelton In The 2025\/26 British Trainers Title Race?<\/h2>\n

So, we know the Willie Mullins runners are limited at the moment in the UK.<\/p>\n

And, as mentioned – he’s still over \u00a32.1 m away from Skelton.<\/p>\n

But the bookies are refusing to say he’s out of the title race – why would they?<\/p>\n

Mullins is still only 9\/2 to retain his British jump trainers championship title, with Skelton 1\/9.<\/p>\n

So can last season’s top British (even though he’s Irish)<\/em> jumps trainer catch Skelton?<\/p>\n

As we know – last year top Irish trainer Willie Mullins famously pipped Dan Skelton to the British trainers’ title.<\/p>\n

The Closutton handler fired in just 38 winners in Britain, but in the process won a massive \u00a33,570,991.<\/p>\n

Ass the jumps season heads into 2026 – Mullins will, of course, be well-armed for the big Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals.<\/p>\n

Plus, don’t forget, he’s won the last two runnings of the \u00a3500k Aintree Grand National with I Am Maximus and Nick Rockett.<\/p>\n
