Aston Villa will be without Ross Barkley for several months after manager Unai Emery confirmed the midfielder has suffered a long-term injury.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

It’s a fresh injury blow for Villa as the Midlands side prepare for a difficult run of December fixtures.<\/span><\/p>\n

With games coming thick and fast, squad depth and rotation is crucial as rest and recovery is limited.<\/span><\/p>\n

But one man they’ll now have to live without over the festive period is Ross Barkley.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unai Emery Confirms Ross Barkley Injury<\/b><\/h2>\n

Thirty-one-year-old midfielder Barkley was forced off in the closing stages of Villa’s 1-0 win against Wolves.<\/span><\/p>\n

He had only replaced Youri Tielemans 13 minutes prior during Sunday’s game.<\/span><\/p>\n

But post-game assessments confirmed the 33-capped England international suffered sprained knee ligaments.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, he will be out for longer than initially thought.<\/span><\/p>\n
