Newcastle United are hopeful they will soon be boosted by the return of Yoane Wissa, with the latest injury update suggesting he may be fit this weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sources close to the club have indicated that Yoane Wissa could make his long-awaited Newcastle debut against Burnley on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Wissa joined from Brentford over the summer, in a deal worth \u00a355m.<\/p>\n

But a knee injury suffered on international duty with DR Congo means the striker is yet to feature on Tyneside.<\/p>\n

He has been sidelined every since, with player and club frustrated by the lengthy spell away from the pitch.<\/p>\n

Yoane Wissa’s AFCON<\/strong><\/a> dream is already over, with his national side omitting him from their squad.<\/p>\n

His return could not come at a better time, with the Magpies struggling in the league.<\/p>\n

Despite an entertaining 2-2 draw with Tottenham in midweek, they remain 12th in the table, with five wins and five defeats from their opening 14.<\/p>\n

Although not confirmed, reports indicate that Yoane Wissa is pushing hard for a place on the Newcastle bench this weekend.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old is back in full team training, and has participated in behind-closed-doors games at the club’s training facility.<\/p>\n

With 19 goals for Brentford last term, Wissa is a striker with proven Premier League pedigree.<\/p>\n

So working him back into the squad and getting him off the mark will be vital to the club’s ambitions.<\/p>\n

Newcastle United’s December Fixtures Will Be Tough<\/h2>\n

Eddie Howe’s side will play a total of seven matches across December.<\/p>\n

After this weekend’s clash with Burnley, they travel to Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League.<\/p>\n

Then comes a massive fixture, with the Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.<\/p>\n

Back-to-back home games against Fulham and Chelsea are then followed by a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.<\/p>\n

And rounding out the calendar year is the return fixture against Burnley at Turf Moor.<\/p>\n
