West Brom are attempting to sign Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson after being sucked into a relegation scrap.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Baggies suffered a humiliating 5-0 home defeat against Norwich on Tuesday to cast huge doubts over new boss Eric Ramsay.<\/p>\n

Ramsay replaced Ryan Mason earlier this month from the MLS side Minnesota United, but has lost his first two games in charge.<\/p>\n

Their position in the Championship is growing increasingly precarious, and they currently sit just three points above the drop zone.<\/p>\n

Despite his short stint in charge, Ramsay is already among the favourites in the Championship sack race.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

West Brom Target Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson<\/h2>\n

According to Football League World, Ramsay wants to bolster his goalkeeping department with the arrival of Patterson on loan until the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Patterson was integral to Sunderland’s promotion to the Premier League last season but has yet to make a league appearance this campaign following the arrival of Robin Roefs.<\/p>\n

Josh Griffiths has been promoted to West Brom’s main choice in goal this season following four loan spells, most recently with Bristol Rovers.<\/p>\n

But Ramsay wants to add a keeper with more experience to his ranks and help bring calmness to the backline.<\/p>\n

West Brom’s 43 goals conceded this season is the second worst in the league behind rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Patterson was Sunderland’s first-choice stopper for three years in the Championship and has made over 150 senior appearances for the Black Cats.<\/p>\n

Sunderland may want to bring in another back-up stopper before allowing Patterson to leave, or promote third-choice stopper Simon Moore to the substitute bench.<\/p>\n

Sunderland Transfer News<\/h2>\n

Everton has reportedly made contact with Sunderland in an attempt to sign striker Wilson Isidor<\/a> this month.<\/p>\n

Toffees boss David Moyes wants to add depth and competition to his strikeforce during the January transfer window.<\/p>\n

His threadbare squad suffered yet another blow after it was revealed that Jack Grealish will be absent<\/a> for around three months with injury.<\/p>\n

Beto and Thierno Barry currently share the responsibility in attack, but the duo have scored just six goals between them.<\/p>\n

Isidor has featured 19 times in the top flight this season, with 11 of those coming in the starting line-up.<\/p>\n

His last start for Sunderland came at the beginning of December, and a minor injury has ruled him out of two of the last three league matches.<\/p>\n

Sunderland value their striker at around \u00a325million, which would prove a significant profit on the \u00a33.3m they paid Zenit St Petersburg almost 12 months ago.<\/p>\n
