Norwich City are closing in on a permanent deal to sign central midfielder Paris Maghoma from Premier League side Brentford.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Paris Maghoma Nears Norwich Move<\/h2>\n

Norwich are set to sign Paris Maghoma from Brentford on a permanent transfer.<\/p>\n

The Pink Un\u00a0<\/em>report that the 24-year-old is due to undergo a medical ahead of a permanent move to Carrow Road as Philippe Clement looks to bolster his midfield options.<\/p>\n

A product of the Tottenham Hotspur academy, Maghoma is typically deployed in central midfield but is expected to play in the number 10 role for the Canaries.<\/p>\n

Signing an attacking midfielder has been among the club’s top priorities in January.<\/p>\n

Maghoma will follow Ali Ahmed and Harry Amass through the door in Norfolk.<\/p>\n

The former England youth international joined the Bees from Spurs in 2022 and has made a total of eight Premier League appearances for the west London outfit.<\/p>\n

He has also enjoyed spells out on loan in League Two and League One, featuring for the likes of Wimbledon, MK Dons and, most recently, Bolton Wanderers.<\/p>\n

Maghoma turned out for the latter in 2023-24, where he made a total of 50 appearances for the third tier across all competitions, totalling an impressive nine goals and six assists.<\/p>\n

Thanks to his impressive displays, he was named the Trotters’ Young Player of the Season.<\/p>\n

This term, Maghoma hasn’t featured for Brentford but has trained consistently since November.<\/p>\n

Norwich Remain in the Market for Striker<\/h2>\n

The Canaries also remain in the market for a striker. It is reported that Norwich are targeting Kasper Hogh<\/a> from Bodo\/Glimt to fulfil that role amid uncertainty over Josh Sargent’s future.<\/p>\n

Hogh scored twice in Bodo’s 3-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League last week.<\/p>\n

Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts are interested in acquiring the Dane’s services, too.<\/p>\n

Despite this, the Championship relegation battlers remain favoured to land Hogh before the transfer window slams shut next week. The Norwegian champions value the striker at \u00a36m.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Sargent’s ‘heated meeting’ with Norwich<\/a> last week has put his future in major doubt.<\/p>\n

The United States international is currently training with the club’s U21 side, with reports suggesting that he is keen on returning to North America to join MLS side Toronto FC.<\/p>\n

Toronto submitted a bid worth around \u00a313.5m to sign the forward earlier in the window, however the Canaries reportedly want over \u00a320m to sanction his exit this winter.<\/p>\n

Norwich are next in action against top-of-the-table side Coventry City on Monday night.<\/p>\n
