Out-of-favour Wrexham defender Conor Coady is set to join Charlton Athletic on loan for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conor Coady Set for Charlton Loan<\/h2>\n

Wrexham defender Conor Coady is set to join Charlton on loan for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n

The former Everton and Wolves defender joined the ambitious north Wales club from Leicester for an undisclosed fee in the summer, originally penning a two-year deal at the SToK Cae Ras.<\/p>\n

But having fallen out-of-favour under Phil Parkinson after only five Championship games this term, the 10-time England international’s long-term future with the Reds is in major doubt.<\/p>\n

Aston Villa-linked Max Cleworth<\/a> has been preferred ahead of him in Parkinson’s back three, and so have the likes of Callum Doyle, Dan Scarr and Dominic Hyam.<\/p>\n

His last appearance for the club came in the Carabao Cup last 16 defeat by Cardiff in October.<\/p>\n

Coady’s last league appearance for Wrexham was against Queens Park Rangers back in mid-September, a game in which he scored an own-goal as his side were beaten 3-1 on home turf.<\/p>\n

He is now set to join the Addicks on loan as they look to stave off relegation to League One.<\/p>\n

Reports suggest that a deal has been agreed and the 32-year-old is due to undergo a medical.<\/p>\n

This is despite reported interest from Scottish Premiership side Rangers earlier in the window.<\/p>\n

Coady Set For Charlton Relegation Battle<\/h2>\n

Nathan Jones will hope that Coady’s arrival can boost their survival chances in the second tier.<\/p>\n

He adds a wealth of experience to the Welshman’s squad, having made 198 Premier League appearances throughout his career, along with 184 appearances in the Championship.<\/p>\n

Charlton currently find themselves in a lowly 19th place in the table following Saturday’s thumping 4-0 defeat by Millwall on the road, leaving them just three points clear of the drop.<\/p>\n

They have won just two of their last 15 matches across all competitions (W2, D3, L10).<\/p>\n

Consequently, pressure is mounting on head coach Jones. He is rated among the favourites in the Championship sack race betting odds<\/a> market, priced as the fourth favourite at 7\/1.<\/p>\n

If results don’t soon pick up, the club are being tipped to part ways with the 52-year-old.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Coady is set to follow three new faces through the door at The Valley.<\/p>\n

Charlton signed Lyndon Dykes<\/a> earlier in the window from Birmingham, while they have also completed the loan signings of Harry Clarke and Luke Chambers from Ipswich and Liverpool.<\/p>\n
