Ipswich Town are looking to bring Sam Surridge back to the Championship as they continue their assault on a Premier League return.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Tractor Boys have already signed Anis Mehmeti from Bristol City and Sunderland’s Dan Neil on loan<\/a> until the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Now Kieran McKenna is looking to tweak his strikeforce and has identified Surridge as the man who can fire them back to the top flight.<\/p>\n

Sam Surridge Can’t Stop Scoring<\/h2>\n

The Nashville striker scored 24 goals in 34 appearances in the 2025 MLS season and spent the campaign battling Lionel Messi for the Golden Boot.<\/p>\n

Messi would eventually claim top spot with 29 goals, but Surridge’s goalscoring heroics thrust his name back in the limelight.<\/p>\n

Surridge, 27, moved to Nashville in July 2023, which coincided with a summer when his former club Nottingham Forest signed 14 new players.<\/p>\n

The former Bournemouth man had struggled to find a place he could call home following five loan spells, half a season with Stoke City and 18 months with Forest.<\/p>\n

According to Mike McGrath, Ipswich are now weighing up the option to give him another shot in England.<\/p>\n

Ipswich are currently third in the Championship and sit five points behind Middlesbrough in second with a game in hand.<\/p>\n

Whether Surridge will be eager to make the switch remains to be seen.<\/p>\n

He recently revealed in an interview that he has settled into life in the US with his young family. He said: “I love it and it is perfect. Nashville as a place is brilliant for us as a family.<\/p>\n

“We have enjoyed travelling and seeing different parts of America. We are fortunate to live here in a good city, it’s definitely made that easier.”<\/p>\n

Derby Eye Ipswich Forward<\/h2>\n

Derby are ready to take advantage of Ipswich’s transfer incomings by making an offer for forward Sammie Szmodics.<\/p>\n

The Republic of Ireland international has only started seven Championship games this season, having been hamstrung with injuries.<\/p>\n

Szmodics and Derby boss John Eustace worked alongside each other when the duo were at Blackburn.<\/p>\n

The forward was the Championship top scorer while playing for Blackburn in the 2023\/24 season, ending the campaign on 27 goals.<\/p>\n

According to the Ipswich Star, the Rams have seen two bids rejected because they fall well short of the club’s valuation of the player.<\/p>\n
