Betting has been suspended on Jean-Philippe Mateta joining AC Milan after the striker FAILED his medical.<\/p>\n

Mateta has been the interest of much interest from clubs across Europe with Nottingham Forest once in pole position.<\/p>\n

Betting was suspended with Mateta expected to be announced as a Serie A signing on Monday.<\/p>\n

However, breaking news suggests Mateta’s move to AC Milan is now OFF!<\/p>\n

Jean-Philippe Mateta To AC Milan OFF<\/h2>\n

The “Next Club” market for Mateta looked relatively straightforward earlier this week.<\/p>\n

A \u00a335million bid arrived from Forest for the striker, who made it clear to Crystal Palace he wanted to leave this window.<\/p>\n

However, he had always hoped to play in the Champions League, which played into Milan’s favour.<\/p>\n

Forest were the 8\/13 favourites days ago, while the Serie A giants drifted out to 7\/1.<\/p>\n

That was looking like a shrewd bet but now it appears all bets are off with a medical reportedly failed.<\/p>\n

Mateta Transfer Exit Off?<\/h2>\n

This looked a two-horse race for much of the last week and Italian’s AC Milan appeared to have won it.<\/p>\n

It is believed both sides made concrete offers just shy of Palace’s asking price and allowed talks to take place between both.<\/p>\n

But Milan’s ability to offer Champions league football sealed the deal before a failed medical pulled the plug on the deal.<\/p>\n

Nottingham Forest are still a short price in the Premier League relegation odds<\/a> market.<\/p>\n

Oliver Glasner Leaves Mateta Out<\/h2>\n

Glasner revealed Mateta would not travel with Palace to the City Ground last weekend, saying he was “not in the right place to play”.<\/p>\n

“I have to protect the team and protect him,” said Glasner.<\/p>\n

Nottingham Forest were held to a 1-1 draw with their rivals.<\/p>\n
