Crystal Palace could take their January spending to \u00a3100million as they chase Everton’s Dwight McNeil.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The London strugglers have been embroiled in transfer sagas throughout the month, mostly revolving around striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.<\/p>\n

The Frenchman was expected to leave\u00a0Selhurst Park with a move to Juventus in the pipeline, but issues with his medical<\/a> could scupper the transfer.<\/p>\n

His departure, which is now likely to be on loan, may help facilitate the transfers of two players from their Premier League rivals.<\/p>\n

Crystal Palace Target Dwight McNeil<\/h2>\n

According to reports, Palace are plotting a late \u00a320million offer for winger McNeil to bolster their midfield options.<\/p>\n

Everton have been reluctant to let McNeil leave this month after Jack Grealish was ruled out for the rest of the season with a fractured foot.<\/p>\n

However, the Toffees may see the offer as too good to turn down, given his lack of appearances and form this season.<\/p>\n

McNeil, 26, has only made seven Premier League starts and was left on the bench in the 1-1 draw against Brighton at the weekend.<\/p>\n

He will also be entering the final year of his contract in the summer, and therefore, his value will decrease at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Nottingham Forest had been linked with McNeil<\/a>, but are focusing their attentions elsewhere, with priorities to sign a midfielder and left-back.<\/p>\n

Palace Spending Could Top \u00a3100m<\/h2>\n

Palace have already spent \u00a335million on bringing Brennan Johnson to Selhurst Park from Tottenham.<\/p>\n

A deal to sign McNeil would bring their spending to \u00a355m, while Jorgen Strand Larsen is also awaiting the green light to make his \u00a345m switch from Wolves.<\/a><\/p>\n

The striker has completed his medical and is set to sign on the dotted line, but Mateta’s uncertainty is currently holding up any deal.<\/p>\n

At the time of writing, AC Milan pulled out of a deal to sign him on a permanent deal, but numerous clubs are interested in landing him on loan.<\/p>\n

Whether that has an impact on Strand Larsen’s deal remains to be seen, but Palace have cash in the bank after selling Marc Guehi to Manchester City earlier this month.<\/p>\n

It’s been a turbulent time at the club this season, with manager Oliver Glasner revealing he’s leaving in the summer when his contract expires.<\/p>\n

Palace are also being slowly sucked into a relegation scrap and are currently on a run of 12 games without a victory in all competitions.<\/p>\n
