{"id":8881,"date":"2024-09-24T09:03:38","date_gmt":"2024-09-24T09:03:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/?p=8881"},"modified":"2024-09-24T09:03:38","modified_gmt":"2024-09-24T09:03:38","slug":"aston-villa-mascot-prices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/news\/aston-villa-mascot-prices\/","title":{"rendered":"Aston Villa Are Charging Young Fans More Than Five Hundred Pounds To Be A Premier League Mascot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Aston Villa&#8217;s mascot prices are far higher than every other Premier League club&#8217;s.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Walking out with your heroes on match day is a dream come true of any young football fan, but could be a financial nightmare for parents at some clubs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To see if some children are being priced out of this once-in-a-lifetime experience, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\"><b><i>SportsCasting<\/i><\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> collected the price of being a mascot at all 20 Premier League clubs, and found Aston Villa to be the most expensive by far.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The cheapest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportscasting.com\/uk\/news\/premier-league-transfer-window-change-europes-top-5-leagues\/\">Premier League<\/a> mascot package at Villa Park costs \u00a3524, which is \u00a3129 more than the most expensive option at any other club.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, Villa\u2019s package does include three extra tickets to accompany the mascot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Comparatively, fans at Crystal Palace can get a mascot package for as little as \u00a3100 for certain games.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And for the majority of young supporters, this priceless experience is just that, with 14 of the 20 clubs not charging a penny for their mascots.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Notably, none of the \u2018big six\u2019 clubs charge fans to be a mascot. Instead, junior members are entered into a ballot and selected at random.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The six clubs which do charge for mascots are Aston Villa, Brighton, Wolves, from official club websites<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><b>Aston Villa Mascot Prices By Far The Highest<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Parents of young Villains are having to fork out far more than those at any other club in order to see their child walk out with the team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With packages ranging from \u00a3524-\u00a3569 depending on the category of fixture, no other club comes close to charging as much.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Included in the package are a full junior kit, mascot gift pack, drinks on arrival and a photograph in the official program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While comfortably the most expensive option in the league, Villa also includes two adult and two junior match tickets in the package (one for the mascot themselves).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Big Six Clubs Don\u2019t Charge Mascots<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While there are six clubs which charge fans for mascot packages, none of these are in the so-called \u2018big six\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham all offer the experience for free to young fans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">At Manchester City, Cityzens Junior members can enter a randomly drawn ballot to become a Premier League mascot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Included in the City package is a full 2024\/25 junior home kit, two complimentary match tickets (for the mascot and an accompanying adult), a programme, goody bag and complimentary refreshments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Other clubs offer similar packages, with slight variations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Several Clubs Recently Scrap Mascot Package Charges<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One club which has changed their tune on charging mascots is Bournemouth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Previously, mascot prices were as high as \u00a3300 in 2023, but the experience has now been made free to junior members.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Leicester City also recently stopped charging for mascot packages, dropping their fee from \u00a3600 to \u00a30 in 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tottenham removed their \u00a3405 charge last year, becoming the latest club to remove all mascot charges.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Chelsea Waiting List Means Some Children Will Miss Out<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While it does not cost a penny to be a mascot at Stamford Bridge, the experience may not be possible for everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As it stands, there is a four year waiting list to be a Chelsea mascot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With children only eligible from ages 6-12, parents must apply before the child is eight years old in order to join the waiting list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For some children, it may be too
