Amari Cooper Contract Details

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cooper and the Browns have agreed to a restructured contract that guarantees his $20 million salary with a chance for an additional $5 million in incentives.

The Browns will give Cooper half of the guaranteed salary as a signing bonus.

Cooper is entering the final year of a five-year, $100 million contract he signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020. In March 2022, the Browns traded a 2022 fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick swap to the Dallas Cowboys to acquire Cooper.

As a result of the increasing market for receivers, Cooper skipped the mandatory minicamp in hopes of signing a new contract.

With the restructured deal, Cooper makes $10 million in one day and gets a chance at the raise he desires. Cooper, 30, will still become an unrestricted free agent following the 2024-2024 season.

List of Highest-Paid Wide Receivers

Per Over the Cap, Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson has the highest average per year (APY) for wide receivers at $35 million.

Philadelphia’s A.J. Brown ($32 million), Detroit’s Amon-Ra St. Brown ($30.003), and Miami’s Tyreek Hill ($30 million) are the only other wide receivers with an APY of at least $30 million.

At $20 million per year, Cooper comes in tied for 21st with Tampa Bay’s Chis Godwin.

Cooper made his fifth Pro Bowl in 2023 after a productive season of 72 receptions, 1,250 yards (career high), and five touchdowns.
