Cleveland Browns fans have enough stress in their lives; they do not need any additional off-the-field worries related to rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders. For all intents and purposes, Sanders has been a great on-the-field teammate through the Browns minicamps thus far.

However, he committed a Myles Garrett-like blunder early Tuesday morning. Sanders was pulled over by police and cited for speeding. He was clocked at going 101 miles per hour where 60 miles per hour is the reported speed limit. Shedeur Sanders can either pay the speeding ticket or fight the ticket in court.
This is reckless, undisciplined behavior, and Sanders is not alone in doing something like this. Myles Garrett scared everyone in Cleveland when he was in a car accident in 2022 following practice. Garrett sustained minor injuries, and one of the causes of the accident was excessive speed.

Glad he’s OK 🙏

Sanders is competing for the starting quarterback job. He has yet to make a name for himself in the NFL. The key difference is that Garrett was already an established star in the NFL.
Browns QB Struggles
The Cleveland Browns have been on a downward spiral at quarterback for years, some would argue it has gone on for 20+ years; others would say it has been since Baker Mayfield was traded and Deshaun Watson was signed in 2022.
Joe Flacco was an unexpected bright spot in 2023, but the team let him go last season. He is back in 2025 and hopefully will bring stability at the quarterback position.

The optics are bad between Watson’s issues and this speeding ticket for Sanders. I am a fan of Shedeur Sanders, and I hope this is the first and last we hear about him having off-the-field issues. This should be a wake up call for him.
