Jauan Jennings is coming off his best year in the NFL and wants to cash in.
He played in 15 games, recording 77 receptions, 975 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns in 2024.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jennings, who is scheduled to make $7.5 million in 2025 in the final year of his deal, wants a new contract or to be traded. San Francisco extended Jennings’ deal last year, but that does not change how he feels about this year.

If the 49ers and Jauan Jennings do not agree on a new deal, one team seems to be very high on Jennings if made available.

Andrew Filliponi posted on X that a Steelers source on Jennings stated, “He’s got a lot of Hines Ward in him.” He continued by saying, “No clue if they’ll trade for him. But he has BIG fans in that front office and coaching staff.”

This makes a lot of sense that the Steelers would be high on Jennings. He fits the mold as a WR in what the Steelers would like. Jennings plays hard and is willing to block on run plays, unlike George Pickens. He does not take plays off, something the Steelers had issues with Pickens and Diontae Johnson. He is the opposite of what the Steelers have had in their WR room the last few years.
Steelers Unlikely To Land Jauan Jennings
It seems unlikely the Steelers land Jauan Jennings, according to one Steelers insider. During a chat session, Steelers insider Brian Batko was asked about the chances of Jennings showing up at Steelers training camp. Batko replied by saying, “I’ll go 4% chance Jauan Jennings is there.”
Pittsburgh brass may be high on Jennings, but it is unlikely the 49ers will part ways with him.
Jennings would be a nice addition for the Steelers, and he would help improve the offense, but this feels like a very long shot.
