The Los Angeles Clippers have been arguably the most active team this NBA offseason. They’ve rolled over much of their roster while keeping their immediate core intact, and should be one of the more intriguing watches on a nightly basis for the upcoming 2025-26 campaign.
Are The Clippers NBA Title Contenders For 2025-26 Season?
But has their lineup and roster shuffling vaulted them into championship contention? The oddsmakers aren’t exactly convinced.
The Clippers were one of the surprise teams in 2024-25. They finished in the 5th spot in a highly competitive Western Conference by notching 50 regular season wins, but made a first round exit from the postseason after pushing the Denver Nuggets to seven games. They entered the offseason with an aging core, and there were questions about what direction they would head in for their immediate future.
So the Clippers added Brook Lopez (37), Chris Paul (40), Bradley Beal (32), and John Collins (27) to a core of Kawhi Leonard (34), James Harden (35) and Ivica Zubac (28).
Pretty old group! Love me some old man hoops.

Would the leadership combo of James Harden and Kawhi Leonard be kept around? Would the team try to get younger or lean into being one of the more experienced teams in the league?
The team’s front office went with the latter option. Their four biggest offseason acquisitions have an average age of 34, and are players that have long histories of postseason experience. Brook Lopez (37 years old) and John Collins (27) were brought in to shore up the team’s front court rotation, and Bradley Beal (32) and Chris Paul (40) are now a part of the Clippers’ group of guards.
They join James Harden (35) and Kawhi Leonard (34) to make up one of the oldest rotations of any NBA team for the upcoming season.
What Are The Team’s Odds Of Winning A Championship?
Will the experience pay off? The oddsmakers at the sportsbooks aren’t exactly high on the hopes for Los Angeles in 2025-26. After the signing of Paul on Monday, the Clippers’ NBA championship odds are sitting at +2800 (according to DraftKings). Those odds rank as the 10th lowest of any team in the league, behind the Orlando Magic at +2000 and just ahead of the Dallas Mavericks at +3000.

Even when it comes to just the West, the Clippers aren’t getting a lot of love from the sportsbooks. They are projected to finish 7th in the conference based on the odds, even behind the Golden State Warriors. Their over/under win total is currently sitting at 47.5, which would be a regression from last year’s total.
