Tyler Reddick

With 23XI Racing embroiled in ongoing litigation that could force the Michael Jordan- and Denny Hamlin-owned team to compete without a charter during the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season, Tyler Reddick is almost certainly entertaining other options.

Although set for the rest of 2025, Reddick could very plausibly jump ship at year’s end for a more stable situation.

If that happens, look for the two-time NASCAR Xfinity Series champion and eight-time NASCAR Cup Series race winner to end up with one of three organizations.

So what are those organizations and what makes each of them a possible future home for Reddick?

1. Team Penske (The Likely Top Choice For Tyler Reddick)

Winners of the last three NASCAR Cup Series championships with Joey Logano (2022 and 2024) and Ryan Blaney (2023), Team Penske may be the most attractive destination for any driver on the move.

But is the company founded and run by NASCAR Hall of Fame team owner Roger Penske a potential suitor for Tyler Reddick? While it’s impossible to say at this point whether either party would seriously entertain a marriage, Penske could theoretically bring Reddick into the fold in one of two ways.

The more likely scenario is that Penske parts company at season’s end with Austin Cindric, creating an opening for its iconic No. 2 car. Cindric, although locked in the playoffs by virtue of winning at Talladega, has been wildly inconsistent since jumping in a Cup Series car full-time for Penske in 2022. And although he’s enjoyed some great moments, which most notably include winning the 2022 Daytona 500, teammates Logano and Blaney have consistently outperformed him.

If Penske decides to stick with Cindric for another year, Reddick could still slip through the door, though, if the organization adds a fourth Cup Series team. That seems unlikely at the moment, however.

2. Hendrick Motorsports

No different from any other year in recent memory, Alex Bowman finds himself on the hot seat at Hendrick Motorsports with the season just past its halfway mark.

While Bowman has enjoyed a nice uptick in performance the last few weeks, he continues to lag behind teammates Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson and William Byron. This has fueled speculation that he would be the odd man out if team owner Rick Hendrick decides to retool his driver roster for 2026.

If Hendrick does opt to make a change with the No. 48 car currently wheeled by Bowman, Tyler Reddick — whose driving talent is indisputable — would almost certainly be on the shortlist of candidates for the job. The only drawback to Reddick, at least where Rick Hendrick is concerned, might be the driver’s scruffy appearance.

Hendrick Motorsports long being the gold standard for neatly groomed drivers, Reddick might not be a culture fit with the organization. Or, he might simply have to go get a haircut.

3. Trackhouse Racing

Of the potential landing places for Tyler Reddick, Trackhouse Racing is currently in the best position to extend the 23XI Racing driver an offer. That’s because, unlike Hendrick and Penske, Trackhouse already has a seat available.

With the recent news that Daniel Suarez won’t continue with Trackhouse for another season, the organization is actively looking for a driver to take over Suarez’s ride in 2026.

In just the last few days, 23XI Racing lost its charter. That has left many to speculate about whether Reddick wants out, especially if the team can’t secure a charter for 2026. Knowing the tenuous situation Reddick is in, Trackhouse has probably elevated Reddick to its top choice for the No. 99 Chevy now belonging to Suarez. The bigger question is whether the interest is mutual.

Given Trackhouse’s success this year with drivers Shane van Gisbergen and Ross Chastain, it seems that an opportunity to drive for the organization would, at the very least, pique Reddick’s interest. But if Team Penske or Hendrick Motorsports comes calling first, it’s probably game over.
