Patrick Mahomes had his least productive season as an NFL starter in 2024. But despite his lowered statistical output, he was able to lead the Chiefs to a 15-2 record and a trip to the Super Bowl for the fifth time in six years. That performance wasn’t enough to keep him in one of the elite clubs, as he has been left out of this year’s “99 Club” in the Madden 26 video game.
Patrick Mahomes Left Out Of Madden 99 Club
Having a high rating in Madden has become something of a badge of honor. The video game does a commendable job with their rating systems year in and year out, and there is a name for the best of the best. The highest possible rating a player can have is a 99 overall, which is signified by the “99 Club” moniker.

Patrick Mahomes was a repeat member of the club. The Kansas City quarterback had received a 99 rating in each version of the game since 2021, with the only exception being the Madden 23. The streak was four out of five years running, which made him one of the longest mainstays in recent memory, along with Aaron Donald.
Which Players Did Make The List?
That distinction is gone for Madden 26. The 99 Club was announced on Monday morning, and Mahomes was notably absent. The two quarterbacks who made the list were last year’s MVP candidates in Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, who are both receiving the honors for the first time. This year’s cover athlete, Saquon Barkley, is also a part of the club for the first time, as is his teammate Lane Johnson.
Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson are the two wide receivers on the list, and Myles Garrett is the only defensive player in the club.

What type of Madden rating will Mahomes receive? Despite the drop in his production last season, he is still the driving catalyst of a team that is likely in the middle of a dynasty. So when the rest of the ratings are released in August, don’t be surprised to see him hanging around the 96-98 range.
None of last year’s members of the 99 Club made in for this year’s version of the game. In addition to Mahomes, Tyreke Hill, Christian McCaffrey, Trent Williams, and Travis Kelce have all dropped out.
