The NFL season is one month away. The preseason has already begun and several teams are beginning to gear up for another shot at the Lombardi Trophy.
Offenses around the league have improved significantly in recent years with three teams (Lions, Ravens, and Bills) averaging over 30 points per game last season.
Below, we’ll break down our prediction for the top five NFL offenses in 2025.
Which NFL Offenses Missed The Cut In 2025?
Before getting into the top five, these are five teams that just missed out on cracking the top five list:
- Washington Commanders
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Minnesota Vikings
- San Francisco 49ers
Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels took the league by storm in his rookie season. Washington ranked sixth in PPG last season and the Commanders were expected to take another leap forward after acquiring Deebo Samuel in the offseason, but the uncertainty of Terry McLaurin’s status leaves them off the top-five list.
Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia ranked fifth in points per game last season and rode the league’s second-best ground game to another Super Bowl victory. Saquon Barkley was a machine, but after enduring such a heavy workload and short offseason, it’s fair to wonder whether he and the Eagles offense might take a tiny step back this season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay ranked fourth in PPG last season. They have a very good passing game led by Baker Mayfield under center. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin remain one of the top wide receiver duos in all of football and Bucky Irving is dangerous out of the backfield. While the Bucs will have a good offense once again in 2025, the loss of former offensive coordinator Liam Coen leaves them off of our top-five list.
Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings have playmakers at all skill positions on offense. Justin Jefferson is one of the league’s top wide receivers and Jordan Addison is a strong WR2 with potential to grow into an even bigger role in 2025. T.J. Hockenson is a solid pass-catching tight end who has the ability to stretch defenses down the seams. Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason form a good duo at running back but the biggest question mark is second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy. If McCarthy proves to be ahead of schedule in what is essentially his rookie season, the Vikings could turn out to have one of the NFL’s most dangerous offenses. That said, it is tough to rank the Vikings in the top five until we see McCarthy play.
San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco dealt with a lot of injuries last season, most notably to star running back Christian McCaffrey and WR Brandon Aiyuk. Aiyuk may not return for a while, but McCaffrey has been healthy all of training camp. This will put the 49ers in a position to be a very good offense in 2025.
Predicting The Top Five NFL Offenses In 2025
To rank as a top offense, having a very good quarterback is mandatory. Health is always the biggest concern for teams, but as long as the QBs remain healthy for the teams listed, their offenses will be explosive in 2025.
5. Dallas Cowboys

This may surprise a lot of people, but the Dallas Cowboys have the players to be a very dangerous offense. Just two years ago, the Cowboys ranked first in the league in points per game when Dak was healthy. In 2022, they ranked fourth in PPG. Dallas was first in 2021 in PPG as well.
When Dak Prescott is healthy for an entire season, the Cowboys have an elite offense. He was not healthy last season and missed a bunch of games.
With a trio of CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Jake Ferguson, Dallas has a dangerous trio in the passing game.
Rookie Jaydon Blue has been taking first-team reps in training camp. If he can prove to be a good starting back, this will make Dallas’ offense even better.
As long as Prescott and Lamb are healthy, Dallas’ offense will be a top-five offense in 2025.
4. Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals have arguably the best duo at WR in Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. They paid both of them, something QB Joe Burrow wanted done.
Cincinnati ranked seventh in PPG last season.
Chase Brown will be the starting back for the Bengals, and he proved to be a dangerous weapon out of the backfield last season.
Burrow had an MVP-type season last year. If Cincinnati had made the playoffs, he would have been a strong candidate to win the award. However, their defense let them down in a lot of games.
This season, the Bengals will once again have a dangerous offense as long as Burrow and Chase remain healthy.
3. Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen won the MVP award last season. Allen was the main reason why Buffalo ranked second in the league in PPG last season.
James Cook’s contract situation is an issue for the team, but they will still have a dangerous offense.
Buffalo lacks pass catchers, but it does not seem to matter when it comes to offensive production.
As long as Josh Allen is healthy, the Bills will have a top offense in the league.
2. Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions led the league in PPG last season. They are stacked at all positions on offense.
The offensive line is elite, which helps make the run game elite. Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery have been a superb duo behind this line.
Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams form a dangerous WR duo. Sam Laporta is among the best Tight Ends in the league.
Jared Goff has been very good since joining Detroit. The Lions have done a good job putting very good pieces around Goff.
Losing Ben Johnson may hurt the offense a bit, but this is still arguably the most talented all-around offense in the league.
Detroit will remain one of the best offenses in the league, despite losing offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.
1. Baltimore Ravens

While Josh Allen won the MVP last season, Lamar Jackson was the runner-up and could have easily won the trophy for a third time.
Having Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry in the backfield gives the Ravens an elite run game.
Jackson has also been very efficient in the pass game.
Similarly to Buffalo, the Ravens do not have a bona fide star at WR, but like Buffalo, the QB more than makes up for it.
The Ravens will once again have an elite rush attack and an efficient pass game.
Baltimore will have the best offense in 2025.
