Dave Portnoy smirks.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy will be joining Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff this college football season. What will Portnoy’s role be on the show? One of the Big Noon’s contributors revealed what’s in store this season.

Chris “The Bear” Fallica Talks Dave Portnoy Joining Big Noon

Chris “The Bear” Fallica is one of the primary contributors on Big Noon Kickoff. Fallica and Portnoy are now coworkers and will be teaming up all season.

The biggest question surrounding Portnoy is his involvement in the show. Will Portnoy be sitting at the desk alongside Rob Stone, Mark Ingram II, Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn, and Urban Meyer for the entirety of the show? Will Portnoy and Fallica work together on gambling segments? Will “Stool Presidente” interact with the crowd?

Many believe the addition of Portnoy is Fox’s version of Pat McAfee on College GameDay.

While Fallica believes Portnoy will remain his “authentic” self, he revealed that the Barstool Sports personality will be used in a nontraditional way.

“I am feeling that there’s a little bit more anticipation and excitement because of the addition and the news of Dave and people’s curiosity as to how he’s going to be used and implemented,” Fallica said on BetMGM’s You Better You Bet. “I think there’s a little bit of a misconception out there. I think a lot of people are just thinking, ‘Oh, it’s gonna be like Pat McAfee on GameDay, where Dave’s going to be on set every segment,’ and it’s not going to be the case. He’s going to be on the set for some segments, sure, but it’s not going to be like you’re adding the fifth analyst on the set at all times. It’s not going to be that.”

Fallica credits Fox brass for adding “a little spice” to Big Noon with Portnoy.

Portnoy revealed on The Unnamed Show that he’s unsure how Fox will utilize him on the show. However, he will be in attendance for every Big Noon Kickoff.

Dave Portnoy, Barstool Sign Media Deal With Fox

Barstool Sports is heading to television.

Last month, Barstool and Fox Sports agreed to a media collaboration that will feature Barstool Sports’ talent on the network’s coverage of college football and college basketball.

Portnoy will appear on Big Noon Kickoff all season. Several of Barstool’s most popular personalities, including “Big Cat” Dan Katz, will appear sporadically.

Barstool will also run its pregame show, Barstool College Football Show, at select games throughout the season. It will air at 9 a.m. ET, one hour before Big Noon Kickoff.

Additionally, Barstool will produce and air a two-hour live show Monday through Friday on FS1. It will feature many Barstool personalities.

The move to run Barstool programming comes in the wake of Fox cancelling FS1’s morning shows, including Breakfast Ball and The Facility.

Portnoy, a Michigan fan, will make his debut on Big Noon Kickoff on Aug. 30 when Texas plays Ohio State.
