By now, everyone has probably seen that Carlos Alcaraz got a haircut since playing in last week’s US Open Mixed Doubles Championship with Emma Raducanu.
Alcaraz’s buzz cut took the internet by storm; however, Alcaraz has a reputation of getting haircuts while at tournaments.
This one is the most severe of all, and Frances Tiafoe’s reaction when seeing it for the first time is hilarious.

It is true that Tiafoe cannot stop staring at his head and smiling.
Frances Tiafoe had an equally funny sound byte when asked about it later in a press conference.

Tiafoe prides himself on getting good haircuts week in and week out so he said that Alcaraz needs to come with him for a haircut.
It does not appear that Alcaraz will need to do that in the near future though his hair does grow quickly.
The joke is that Alcaraz will have a full head of hair if he makes it to the US Open final on September 7.
The media wasted no time asking Alcaraz what he thought about Tiafoe’s comment that his haircut is terrible.

How Did Carlos Alcaraz End Up With A Buzzcut?
Potentially the funniest part of this story, beyond the banter between Carlos Alcaraz and Frances Tiafoe, is how Alcaraz managed to get this buzz cut. He does have a barber named Victor who sometimes travels to give him a haircut. New York is too far away for Victor so Alcaraz’s brother offered to give him a haircut. It sounds like his efforts produced a not great result so the only remedy to fix the situation was to shave his head.
Alcaraz might need to use Tiafoe’s connections the next time he needs a haircut in the US.
