Netflix has revealed the release date and photos for its new baseball documentary, Who Killed the Montreal Expos?

Who Killed the Montreal Expos? Release Date and Photos

From 1969 to 2004, the Montreal Expos were a Canadian-based team in Major League Baseball.

The city of Montreal embraced the team and its players for 35 years. The Expos were the first MLB team in Canada and became part of Montreal’s identity.

On September 29th, 2004, the Montreal Expos played their last game at Olympic Stadium. The Expos then relocated to Washington, D.C., for the 2005 season and played under a new name: Washington Nationals.

Why did the Expos leave Montreal for D.C.? That’s the core question asked in Who Killed the Montreal Expos? The documentary explores the Expos’ rich history, from their origins in the late ’60s to their final season in 2004.

Who Killed the Montreal Expos? features eye-opening interviews with former players, staff members, fans, and journalists who experienced the team firsthand.

Netflix’s synopsis reads: “Featuring rare archival footage and flashbacks of the Expos’ greatest moments, the documentary is equal parts sports drama, cultural love story, and gripping whodunit, unraveling the enduring mystery of how it all came to an end.”

Who Killed the Montreal Expos? premieres Oct. 21 on Netflix.
