Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco is preparing to do something he has not done in the seven years since leaving the Baltimore Ravens. He will play at M&T Stadium, his home from 2008-2018, as part of the visiting team.
Since leaving the Ravens, Flacco had stints in Denver, New York (Jets), Cleveland, Indianapolis, and is back again in Cleveland where he arguably had his most success since 2018.
Joe Flacco Is Loved In Baltimore
Ravens fans understand what a class act Flacco, 41, is. His final season in Baltimore was Lamar Jackson’s rookie season. Flacco and Jackson both admit to not seeing or talking to each other frequently, but when they do, it is like 2018 all over again. Joe Flacco did not leave Baltimore on bad terms.
Joe Flacco on if he left the Ravens on good terms:
“I think so. … I have nothing but love for the people in that facility and the people in that city. … I was a small school guy that they took a little bit of a chance on early on in the Draft. I have so many good memories… pic.twitter.com/O8XwfBxBQQ

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson reminisces on his time with Joe Flacco
“How cool he was…how funny he was. I don’t know if people know, but Flacc’s funny, dog. He used to have me rolling. This man just say stuff so nonchalant. He’s a great person to be around”pic.twitter.com/2TGxltxBiv

The irony is that Flacco’s Baltimore return is on a symbolic day for the Ravens. The team is celebrating its 30th anniversary (1995-2025).

Flacco was instrumental in the Ravens’ success. 38,000 of his 45,000 career passing yards were earned as a member of the Ravens. His success culminated with a win in Super Bowl 37 in 2013 and a memorable run in the playoffs. Joe Flacco was the Super Bowl MVP in a 34-31 win over the San Francisco 49ers in the Battle of the Harbaugh brothers.
Ravens And Browns Need A Win
The Browns probably need the win more than the Ravens; however, both teams are 0-1. Cleveland dropped an AFC North division game at home in heartbreaking fashion to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Ravens lost a sizeable lead to Buffalo on the road last Sunday night.
Whatever happens in the game, there is a good chance that there will be some Ravens fans wearing a Joe Flacco jersey and that Lamar Jackson and Joe Flacco could possibly exchange jerseys and greetings on the field after the game.
