Texas A&M Jumps Into Top 10 With Win Over Notre Dame

One year ago, Texas A&M lost to Notre Dame in College Station. On Saturday night, the Aggies got their revenge in South Bend.

The Irish took a 40-34 lead with 2:53 to go. However, Notre Dame did not convert the extra point after a botched snap.

A&M executed a 13-play, 74-yard drive that ended on a Marcel Reed touchdown pass to tight end Nate Boerkircher on fourth-and-goal to tie the game with 13 seconds left. The Aggies converted the extra point to take the lead.

Saturday’s win was Texas A&M’s first win against an AP top-10 opponent since 2014.

The Aggies move to 3-0 and gain an important resume-building victory.

The No. 10 Aggies (3-0) have a bye in Week 4. No. 24 Notre Dame (0-2) faces Purdue on Sept. 20.

Georgia Escapes Knoxville With an Overtime Victory

Georgia, a program known for its defense, relied on its offense in Saturday’s 44-41 win at Tennessee.

Georgia’s Gunner Stockton threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a TD. Down 38-30 with under three minutes left, Stockton hit London Humphreys on fourth down on a fade in the end zone. Georgia converted the two-point conversion to tie the game at 38.

The Volunteers had a chance to win the game in regulation, but kicker Max Gilbert missed a 43-yard field goal attempt in the game’s waning moments.

After Tennessee made a field goal to begin overtime, Georgia responded with a one-yard rushing touchdown from Josh McCray to give the Bulldogs an impressive road victory.

No. 5 Georgia (3-0) has a bye in Week 4. No. 15 Tennessee (2-1) hosts UAB.

Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt Remain Undefeated

Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt each moved to 3-0 after impressive victories in Week 3.

The Yellow Jackets nailed a 55-yard field goal as time expired to upset Clemson 24-21.

Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King continues to be one of the most impressive players in college football. King threw for 211 yards and rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown in the victory.

Meanwhile, the Commodores notched an impressive 31-7 victory at South Carolina.

Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers left the game in the first half with a head injury.

Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia finished 18 of 25 for 177 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

In Week 4, No. 20 Vanderbilt (3-0) hosts Georgia State, while No. 16 Georgia Tech (3-0) hosts Temple.
