Purdy is back.
Per the 49ers’ injury report, Purdy is cleared to play and will start Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
During the 49ers’ Week 1 win against the Seattle Seahawks, Purdy suffered shoulder and toe injuries, with the latter being more serious.
Purdy missed the next two games against the New Orleans Saints and the Arizona Cardinals.
Purdy’s injury was expected to keep him out two to five weeks. The quick recovery means Purdy is good to go in Week 4.
In Week 1, Purdy threw for 277 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the victory. Purdy completed a touchdown pass to Jake Tonges with under two minutes left to take the lead 17-13. The 49ers held on to win the game.
With Purdy out, backup quarterback Mac Jones got the start in Weeks 2 and 3.
Jones completed 26 of 39 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns in the 26-21 win over the Saints.
In Week 3, Jones finished 27 of 41 for 284 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Down 15-13, Jones orchestrated a 10-play, 63-yard drive to set up Eddy Pineiro’s game-winning 35-yard field goal.

Injuries have derailed the 49ers’ past two seasons.
Purdy wasn’t the only 49ers star injured in Week 1. All-Pro tight end George Kittle suffered a hamstring injury during the Seahawks’ game.
Rather than wait to see if Kittle could come back within a few weeks, the 49ers elected to put Kittle on injured reserve. He will miss at least four games now.
Kittle is eligible to return in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 12.
The 49ers lost their best pass rusher for the season in Nick Bosa. The All-Pro defensive end tore his ACL in Week 3’s victory. Bosa already had surgery on his injured knee and will miss the rest of the season.
A pair of 49ers wide receivers, Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall, find themselves on this week’s injury report. Jennings (ankle/shoulder) and Pearsall (knee) are questionable for Sunday’s game.
The 49ers (3-0) host the Jaguars (2-1) on Sept. 28 at 4:05 p.m. ET.
