Coming into the 2025 NFL season, there were plenty of question marks surrounding Tyreek Hill and his future with the Miami Dolphins. But after Monday night’s gruesome leg injury, it has become increasingly likely that the speedy wide redirect has played his final game in South Florida.
Tyreek Hill Suffers Brutal Injury, Future In Miami In Question
Hill finished off the 2024 season in a more than questionable manner. After a frustrating slog through their schedule, the Dolphins fell short of the postseason, the first time in Hill’s career that his team failed to qualify for the playoffs. He voiced his displeasure in interviews after the final game, and was quoted saying, “I have to do what’s best for my career. I’m out.”
It was a major talking point for Miami during the offseason, and trade rumors swirled. But the team decided to keep the talented pass catcher in the fold, hoping that on-field performance would outweigh the baggage that comes with housing the former All-Pro.
Coach Mike McDaniel confirms it’s a dislocated knee, which often includes multiple ligament tears. Hill is having tests now and will stay at the hospital overnight. https://t.co/hn8FJXBcPw

The experiment lasted just four games, and now there is little to no trade value for Tyreek Hill.
During the third quarter of the Dolphins’ victory over the New York Jets in Week 4, Hill was tackled awkwardly along the sideline and his knee and leg appeared severely dislocated. It was immediately clear that the injury would be a serious one, and reports out of Miami say that the team is anticipating a season-ending diagnosis.
The age, the performance, what he left on the field, I don’t know if Tyreek Hill will play football after that injury.

Under the assumption that his season his over, the future of Tyreek Hill in Miami may be as well. There were already signs that his athletic prime was coming to an end, and for a player that is reliant on speed, a brutal knee injury has the potential to be career altering. If the Dolphins are to move on from Hill next summer, they would save between $35 million and $40 million in cap space.
In his 3+ years in Miami, Hill played in 54 games and racked up 4,733 yards on 340 catches, and scored 27 touchdowns. His best season came in 2023 when he set a franchise record with 1,799 receiving yards and led the league with 13 receiving touchdowns.
