NFL Rumors: New York Giants Seeking Trade For Jaylen Waddle

The loss of budding star wide receiver Malik Nabers stings even more now that the New York Giants are looking to be competitive in 2025. But there is still time before the NFL trade deadline in early November, and the team could look to add a pass catcher in order to aid Jaxson Dart’s early career success.

Could they have their eyes on Jaylen Waddle of the Miami Dolphins?

NFL Rumors: Giants Interested In Trading For Jaylen Waddle

Things haven’t gone smoothly this year on South Beach. The Dolphins have limped out to a 1-5 start and appear to be in free fall organizationally, and they are a loss or two away from their season being officially over. There are murmurs guys like Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb could be on the trade block, as Miami could become sellers at the deadline in order to add assets for the future.

On Wednesday, rumors began swirling about wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. Drafted with the 6th overall pick in 2021, the speedy Waddle was thought to be the Dolphins’ WR1 of the future, but he’s been mostly overshadowed by Tyreek Hill over the past three years. With Hill out for the year, Waddle’s usage and numbers have increased in recent weeks.

But he may be one of the pieces that Miami is open to moving. If the Dolphins are interested in doing a full rebuild, the prospect of getting Waddle’s contract off of the books combined with the potentially lucrative return haul may be difficult to pass up. If the right NFL team comes calling with the right offer, don’t be surprised to see the 26-year-old shipped off within the next couple of weeks.

What Would A Hypothetical Waddle Trade Look Like?

According to a report from SNY, the Giants are “big game hunting” when it comes to the wide receiver trade market, and are eyeing Jaylen Waddle as a potential target. He would provide an immediate upgrade to a wide receiver room in need of star power in 2025, and would change the dynamic of the offensive weapons surrounding Dart.

It would be a move for the future, too. Upon Nabors return next season, the Giants would immediately have one of the top wide receiver rooms in the NFC, and potentially in the NFL.

Here’s what a hypothetical trade would look like:

Giants receive: Jaylen Waddle (WR)

Dolphins receive: 2026 2nd Round Pick, 2027 5th Round Pick

In the same report from SNY, it was mentioned that the Giants are interested in other receivers as well, including Chris Olave of the New Orleans Saints.
