Following the New York Giants’ epic collapse to the Denver Broncos, will Brian Daboll make any changes to his coaching staff?
Will Brian Daboll Make a Coaching Change?
Brian Daboll said he’s “not considering” any major changes to his coaching staff. DC Shane Bowen remains in charge of the defense.

Everything that could have gone wrong did in the Giants’ 33-32 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.
The Giants had a 19-0 lead in the fourth quarter before collapsing down the stretch.
Per the Elias Sports Bureau, the Giants became the first team in 1,603 NFL games to blow a lead of at least 18 points with less than six minutes in the fourth quarter.
While the Broncos played perfect football down the stretch, the Giants allowed Denver to make plays and come back in the game.
With 33 seconds remaining and the Giants up 32-30, Bo Nix completed a 29-yard pass to Marvin Mims to New York’s 48-yard line.
The Giants noticeably only rushed three defenders and dropped eight into coverage, allowing Nix to sit back in the pocket and find the open wide receiver. Defensive coordinator Shane Bowen has received the majority of the blame for this decision.
This is the second time the Giants failed to hold the lead in the final minute. In Week 2, the Giants allowed the Dallas Cowboys to march down the field and hit a game-tying field goal to force overtime.
After the game, a visibly upset Giants defensive end Brian Burns was frustrated walking to the locker room and screamed, “Dropping eight in coverage,” referencing Nix’s long completion to Mims.
On Monday, Daboll took accountability for the loss and was asked about a potential coaching staff change, particularly for his defense.
“No, I’m not considering that,” Daboll said about a staff change on Monday via ESPN. “But we all have to do a better job, and it starts with me. There are plenty of opportunities to finish that game the way we wanted to and didn’t get the job done.”

Giants’ Miscues Lead to Loss

The Giants threw the game away multiple times on Sunday.
Kicker Jude McAtamney missed two extra points on Sunday, including one that would have given New York a 33-30 lead. Instead, Will Lutz’ 39-yard field goal as time expired won the game for the Broncos.
“If the snap’s not perfect, the hold’s not perfect, I’m a professional kicker. I’ve got to be able to make those,” McAtamney said after the game.
Giants rookie Jaxson Dart threw for three touchdowns and rushed for one touchdown. However, Dart’s interception in the fourth quarter led to a Broncos’ touchdown that cut the lead to three points.
The Giants (2-5) face the Philadelphia Eagles (5-2) on Oct. 26.
