Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers addressed his trade request from August.
Jakobi Meyers on Trade Request
#Raiders Jakobi Meyers on the trade deadline: “I got no control over that. If I'm here, I'm here.”
Does he still desire to be traded?
“Oh, for sure. But I'm a professional at the end of the day. I'm just trying to play good football.”

In August, Meyers met with the Raiders’ front office and requested a trade.
Meyers and the team attempted to negotiate a new contract. Meyers is in the final year of his three-year, $33 million contract.
Despite the conversations, Meyers and the Raiders did not agree to an extension.
With the NFL’s trade deadline set for Nov. 4, Meyers is one of the rumored names who could be on the move.
Would Meyers welcome a trade?
“Oh, for sure,” Meyers said Tuesday via Ryan McFadden. “But I’m a professional at the end of the day. I’m just trying to play good football. If I’m here, I’ll play good football. If I’m not here, I’ll go out there and play wherever I’m supposed to be.”
Meyers said he has not put “much thought” into a new contract with the Raiders. Since the season has started, Meyers said he hasn’t put much thought into a new deal with the Raiders. The wide receiver has not spoken with the Raiders about the trade request.
“That window kind of just closed with the offseason in it,” Meyers explained. “If it gets done, I don’t care for real. I really just want to be in a good spot for me [and] my family.”
Meyers has 29 receptions for 329 yards in six games. Meyers did not play in Week 7’s 31-0 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs due to a knee and toe injury.
With the Raiders at 2-5, Las Vegas might be a seller at this deadline. In the last year of his deal, the Raiders are unlikely to re-sign Meyers, so trading him now could be in their best interest.
“[The Raiders] know how I feel,” Meyers said about his trade request. “It’s no reason for me to keep going back crying to them, ‘Can you get me out of here?’

If the Raiders make Meyers available, he would garner interest from several wide receiver-needy teams.
The Pittsburgh Steelers instantly come to mind as a team that would benefit from Meyers’ services.
DK Metcalf is the clear No. 1 option for Aaron Rodgers. After Metcalf, the next two pass catchers statistically are tight end Pat Freiermuth and running back Jaylen Warren.
Meyers would give the 4-2 Steelers a legitimate No. 2 option for an organization looking to win their first playoff game since the 2016 season.
Like the Steelers, the Buffalo Bills have an identity crisis at wide receiver. The trio of Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, and Joshua Palmer all have under 300 yards receiving.
Meyers could become one of Josh Allen’s top targets.
Other teams looking for wide receiver help include the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Detroit Lions.
