The Atlanta Falcons (3-3) are in an interesting predicament. Atlanta could be a buyer at the trade deadline since they’re only one game back of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the loss column. Atlanta could also sell and move several players at the deadline. Here are three players that the Atlanta Falcons could move at the trade deadline.
Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins is by far Atlanta’s biggest trade chip.
In March 2024, Cousins signed a four-year, $180 million contract with the Falcons. By the end of the 2024 season, Michael Penix Jr. surpassed Cousins as the Falcons’ quarterback.
Despite constant internet chatter about a trade, the Falcons kept Cousins and demoted him to backup quarterback to start the 2025 campaign.
Whether Atlanta keeps or trades Cousins, 2025 will likely be his last season with the Falcons. Atlanta can release Cousins this offseason and only have to pay around $25 million in dead cap.
However, several teams are searching for better quarterback play this season. The Minnesota Vikings immediately come to mind as a team that needs better quarterback play.
J.J. McCarthy has not played since Week 2 due to an ankle injury. Carson Wentz is 2-2 as McCarthy’s replacement. Cousins, who played for Minnesota from 2018 to 2023, has familiarity with Kevin O’Connell’s offense and could right the ship until McCarthy returns.
Arnold Ebiketie

A team can never have enough edge rushers.
Falcons edge rusher Arnold Ebiketie could be a much-needed boost to another team’s defensive line. Ebiketie does not have a sack in 2025, but he’s coming off back-to-back six-sack seasons.
Why would Atlanta want to trade a pass rusher like Ebiketie? The former second-round pick is in the final year of his contract. Atlanta will likely let Ebiketie walk in free agency to make room for rookies James Pearce Jr. and Jalon Walker.
Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Falcons will “at least listen to offers” for Ebiketie, even though they prefer not to trade him.
The Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens, and Philadelphia Eagles are three teams looking to add a pass rusher before the Nov. 4 trade deadline.
Leonard Floyd

Do I think the Falcons will trade Leonard Floyd before the deadline? I do not.
The veteran is on a one-year, $10 million deal with Atlanta. So far, Floyd, 33, has eight total tackles and three sacks in six games.
The Falcons still have a shot at the postseason, but they are clearly in a transition phase, as they make room for younger talent on the roster.
If Floyd’s former teams — including the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills, and San Francisco 49ers — offered draft compensation for the edge rusher, the Falcons would have to consider making that move.
