Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford sets to pass.

The NFC West has three teams sitting at 5-2. Here are the standings entering week 8:

  • San Francisco 49ers (5-2)
  • Seattle Seahawks (5-2)
  • Los Angeles Rams (5-2)
  • Arizona Cardinals (2-5)

The 49ers have the edge because they are 3-0 against divisional opponents. They have one victory over each team in the NFC West. San Francisco will still play each divisional opponent once more this season.

Seattle is second in the NFC West. They lost to the 49ers in the season opener, but have a victory over the Cardinals. Seattle has yet to play the Rams. The Seahawks will play the 49ers and Cardinals once more, and the Rams twice.

Los Angeles is third in the division. They have played just one divisional game, which was a loss against the 49ers. The Rams will face the 49ers once more this season and will take on the Cardinals and Seahawks twice.

Arizona is last and at a major disadvantage. They lost to the 49ers and Seahawks once this season. The Cardinals will face the 49ers and Seahawks once more this season, and will battle the Rams twice this season.

This has been the best division in the NFL with three teams sitting at 5-2.

NFC West Odds

The NFC West is a tight race between three teams. Here are the current odds to win the NFC West:

  • Los Angeles Rams (+130)
  • San Francisco 49ers (+160)
  • Seattle Seahawks (+285)
  • Arizona Cardinals (+20000

Oddsmakers slightly favor the Rams to win the NFC West. They still play the 49ers once more and the Seahawks and Cardinals twice this season.

The 49ers have been very banged up this season, but are still 5-2 and currently in first in the division, thanks to three wins over divisional opponents.

Seattle is the third favorite, and oddsmakers have them a bit distant from the Rams and 49ers.

Arizona is not given much of a chance.

It feels like the oddsmakers are favoring the Rams because they have the best QB in the division. They do not trust Darnold yet, which is why Seattle is a bit of a distant third in the division.

San Francisco 49ers’ Remaining Schedule

The 49ers do not have a very daunting schedule ahead. Here is the remaining schedule for San Francisco:

  • Week 8: @ Houston Texans
  • Week 9: @ New York Giants
  • Week 10: vs Los Angeles Rams
  • Week 11: @ Arizona Cardinals
  • Week 12: vs Carolina Panthers
  • Week 13: @ Cleveland Browns
  • Week 14: Bye week
  • Week 15: vs Tennessee Titans
  • Week 16: @ Indianapolis Colts
  • Week 17: vs Chicago Bears
  • Week 18: vs Seattle Seahawks

The week 10 matchup against the LA Rams is crucial, as well as their week 18 contest. Both divisional matchups will be at home.

The 49ers should be able to win roughly six more games, which would put them at 11 wins on the year.

Seattle Seahawks’ Remaining Schedule

Here is the remaining schedule for the Seattle Seahawks:

  • Week 8: Bye week
  • Week 9: @ Washington Commanders
  • Week 10: vs Arizona Cardinals
  • Week 11: @ Los Angeles Rams
  • Week 12: @ Tennessee Titans
  • Week 13: vs Minnesota Vikings
  • Week 14: @ Atlanta Falcons
  • Week 15: vs Indianapolis Colts
  • Week 16: vs Los Angeles Rams
  • Week 17: @ Carolina Panthers
  • Week 18: @ San Francisco 49ers

Weeks 11 & 16 are huge contests against the Rams, as well as week 18 against the 49ers.

If Jayden Daniels misses week 9, this is a huge advantage for Seattle.

Seattle’s schedule is a bit tougher than the 49ers. Expect Seattle to win five more games, putting them at 10 wins on the year.

Los Angeles Rams’ Remaining Schedule

Here is the remaining schedule for the Los Angeles Rams:

  • Week 8: Bye week
  • Week 9: vs New Orleans Saints
  • Week 10: @ San Francisco 49ers
  • Week 11: vs Seattle Seahawks
  • Week 12: vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Week 13: @ Carolina Panthers
  • Week 14: @ Arizona Cardinals
  • Week 15: vs Detroit Lions
  • Week 16: @ Seattle Seahawks
  • Week 17: @ Atlanta Falcons
  • Week 18: vs Arizona Cardinals

Weeks 10, 11, and 16 against the 49ers and Seahawks are crucial.

Expect the Rams to win roughly six more contests, putting them at 11 wins.

Which Team Will Win The NFC West?

We can eliminate the Cardinals from contention.

Based on their remaining schedule, tiebreakers, and how many more games each team is expected to win, the San Francisco 49ers will win the NFC West.

With wins over each divisional opponent already, this is a massive advantage for the 49ers.

Week 10 will be the deciding factor, but if the 49ers can sweep the Rams, this will all but wrap up the division, as San Francisco’s remaining schedule is not very daunting.

The 49ers, Rams, and Seahawks may all make the playoffs, but the 49ers will win the division.
