Chargers Trade Rumors: Breece Hall, Alvin Kamara & Tony Pollard Among Targets For Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Chargers have lost three of their last five games, but are still well afloat in the AFC playoff picture. While they may end up being a postseason contender in 2025, there are still some roster holes to fill as we approach the NFL trade deadline set for November 4th.

Which positions and players might Jim Harbaugh and company be focused on? One of the notable spots for an upgrade is at running back.

Chargers Dealing With Depleted Offensive Backfield

It appeared that the team would have a formidable rushing attack this season. The Chargers entered the year with Najee Harris as their top veteran back, and they spent the 22nd overall pick in the 2025 Draft on Omarion Hampton, the second running back selected in the first round. Depth would be provided by Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins, who were on the roster last year.

Injuries have already decimated the position. Back in Week 3, Harris was lost for the season when he tore his Achilles tendon in a game against the Denver Broncos. Then, after racking up 450 scrimmage yards in his first 5 NFL games, Hampton was placed on IR, and won’t be able to return until at least Week 10.

To make matters even worse, Haskins is now dealing with a hamstring injury. The Chargers have leaned on Kimani Vidal as their lead back in their last two games, and while he’s been serviceable, questions remain about him being a long-term solution.

While Hampton should be back for the stretch run, the Chargers are rumored to be a player on the trade market when it comes to acquiring a running back. And if they want to swing for the fences, there are a couple of big names that they should be making calls about.

Breece Hall, Alvin Kamara & Tony Pollard Among Possible Trade Targets For LA

One intriguing possibility is the young power-speed back from the New York Jets, Breece Hall. Despite public comments by the Jets indicating no plans to trade him, the very fact that the name keeps popping up in trade-rumor circles suggests that rival teams like the Chargers could quietly be exploring options.

While his more recent stats show some regression, the notion of a change of scenery, plus a strong offensive line and a more stable passing attack could revitalize Hall’s trajectory.

Another option is Alvin Kamara of the New Orleans Saints. When asked recently about trade rumors, Kamara made it clear that he only wants to play for the team that he has spent his nine-year career with.

But there are still talks of him being involved in the Saints’ potential negotiations on the trade market, and Los Angeles could be a possible destination. Some media outlets specifically point to the Chargers as a fitting landing spot, given their need and Kamara’s dual-threat ability out of the backfield.

Tony Pollard would also be a good fit for the Chargers because his one-cut burst and receiving chops mesh with Jim Harbaugh’s shotgun and outside-zone looks. The Chargers would get an efficient runner who hits creases fast, runs inside or off-tackle, and adds real value on screens and angle routes.

He’s comfortable in pass pro, keeps your play-action credible, and can handle 15–20 touches without throttling your tempo. With Najee Harris out and Omarion Hampton sidelined, Pollard gives LA a plug-and-play RB1 who creates explosives from routine calls, widens spacing for the passing game, and stabilizes short-yardage and two-minute work right away.
